Queen for a Day: Part 21

“Hmm?” She looks up, pretending not to know what I was talking about. “Oh. Ha! That.” She pats my hand. “She wanted me to make her jealous. Besides, you said that you were mine tonight.”
“I did at that.” I say with glance Sarah’s way.
She was now holding my ring in her clenched right hand and clutching it tight to her chest. Damn. Seeing her there alone with her jealousy I couldn’t help but put myself into her shoes. Had another man done that to me…let’s just say he and I would be stepping outside and it wouldn’t be for the fresh air. I thought I had it bad with some of Richie and Emile’s derisive looks and belittling quips but fuuuuck! Those were nothing compared to this. Women played this game dirty!
Soon the waiter returns. The poor guy does his best to stay professional but it wasn’t hard to tell that he was seriously distracted by Ann’s stunning appearance. I could hardly blame him. Though she seemed oblivious to it Annie’s goddess good looks was commanding the attention of nearly every guy in the place, and a few ladies as well. She really was something to behold and I had to confess at feeling pretty damn studly to be her date for the evening. More than once I catch envious glances from the waiter as well as some of the other patrons.
Drinks are brought and our meals ordered. Then, as always happened, Ann and I settled right back into our easy back and forth. Over the past couple of weeks we’d already covered all of the topics I normally might have brought up on a first date so I steer the direction of our conversation to wider topics.
“So, talk to me.”
“Mm?” She swirls her pinot noir.
“Tell me something I don’t know about you.” I say. “Something not too many folks know.”
“Hm.” A smile plays around her lips. “You first.”
“Alright.” I say. “I’ve been to a nudist resort. Took a whole trip there.”
“Ha ha ha! You? The guy who used to shower with his shorts on in the locker room? You are full of surprises.”
“Ha! I can’t believe Sammy told you that.”
Her smile grows, her dark eyes twinkle. “Who says Sammy told me?”
With a rise of my brow I ask. “Bradley?”
“Mm mm.” She shakes her head.
“How did you…?”
“Saw it with my own two eyes.” She confesses. “I slipped away from my class and snuck in one day when I knew you guys were swimming.”
“You…!? Ha ha ha! No way!”
“Mm hm.” She nods. “I remember my heart was pounding like a jackhammer. It was pretty touch and go. Almost got caught a few times. A benefit of being so small was that I was able to hide inside the lockers. I didn’t see everything but I did get see your butt! He he he! Cute.”
I sit up, equally aghast and amused. “You naughty little…peeper!”
“I used to spy on you guys in Sammy’s room too. I had this little peep hole in the wall.”
“Ha ha ha! Terrible. Here I always though you were so sweet and quiet.”
“Heh!”
“Well you wouldn’t have seen much in there.”
“No.” She sighs. “But hope springs eternal.”
“You really had it bad for me, huh?”
“I did.” Her hand glides across the table to take mine.
Taking her elegant hand in mine I hold it and softly rub it. “If only I’d known.”
“If only I’d said something.” From our hands her dark eyes glance up to meet mine and for a few seconds she holds my gaze. “What could have been.”
“This is so wild. Us. This. Tonight.”
“Wild? Not yet it isn’t” She snaps her teeth then lets out a low and sexy growl. “Rrrrr!”
“Down girl!”
We share a laugh and after a squeeze our hands part. After a sip of my bold and spicy shiraz I say. “You’re turn. Tell me something most people wouldn’t know about you.”
“Didn’t I just do that?”
“Ha! I guess ya did.”
“That’s okay.” She says. “I’ve got something else.”
“Why am I not surprised.”
“So when I was in prison I kind of…escaped once.”
“What!?”
“It’s true.” She laughs. “I was out. Free and clear.”
“You are a bad girl!”
“Reformed.”
“Bad girls are sexy.”
“So are good boys who like bad girls.” She winks.
“Ha! So, they caught you eventually?”
“Nope.” She says. “After I realized what a mistake I’d made I had to figure out how to break back in. Broke out at sunrise, dine and dash sushi for lunch, and I was back in my cell for sundown. They didn’t have a clue.” With a shrug she deadpans. “It was an interesting day.”
“Pff! Ha ha ha! You broke INTO prison?”
“Shhh! David!” She slaps my hand as she glances around for anyone in earshot. “That’s a serious offense.”
I clamp my lips then motion that I was locking them up and throwing away the key. Again, laughter. The laughs came easy with Ann. The meal is served, steak for me and scallops for her, and we carry on sharing more and more of ourselves with each other. With each passing minute we become closer and more intimate. More and more our hands meet in the middle for our fingers to play or a soft caress. Longer and longer the quiet gazes linger.
Thought it was difficult I try to keep my focus away from my wife. I really did want to give Ann the evening I promised her and me constantly looking over at our audience would have distracted from the nice vibe we had going. Also, on a deeper level, seeing Sarah alone just made me want her. I was having an awesome time here with Annie but my heart, along with my ring, sat at another table. From time to time I do check on Sarah and my worries are put to ease to see that she’d recovered from the shock of having my wedding band returned to her. She had this crazy intense look in her eyes and was still hyper-focused on us while pretending not to be but she was showing no signs of hurt or hardship.
I am further bolstered when, just as Annie and I were getting our desserts, a suave looking older gentleman approached Sarah and began to hit on her. Being a beautiful woman sitting by herself all evening it was hardly a surprise that she’d drawn some attention. Had she wanted to my wife could have derailed the entire evening right there. With a bat of her eyes at this handsome man my hotwife could have captured her hubby’s attention and never let it go, and she knew it too. Firmly but politely Sarah sends the gent away then gives me a look to reassure me that tonight was my special night. God I loved that woman.
“Close call.”
“Hm?” I look up from my cheesecake.
Ann subtly nods Sarah’s way.
“Oh. Ha! Yeah, I guess.”
She grins furtively but says nothing more about my wife until a few minutes later when she notices Sarah getting up to leave.
“I think we’re boring your chaperone.”
“Hardly.” I say. “She’s just staying a step ahead of us.”
“And where is that step taking us?”
“You’ll see.”

An hour later finds Ann and I dancing our hearts out to the pumping techno beats of the hot new nightclub of the area. The young, trendy crowd was far from my usual sort of scene. The types of places Sarah and I frequented was all stetsons and shitkickers whereas this place was all flash and cutting edge style. I’d chosen this place because I remembered all of the times that her brother, with Bradley and I in tow, would muscle in to take over the living room as she was dancing along to Asian pop groups. I took the chance that if she liked dancing then she probably liked it now. When I’d seen how fancy Ann had dressed for our evening I considered calling an audible and going elsewhere more appropriate to her style but I am so glad that I didn’t. On the dance floor Annie and I have a fucking blast!
I didn’t know the songs, I didn’t know the moves, but I let loose like I never did and dance like nobody is looking. Inspired by my wild abandon Ann too dances like a woman possessed. The girl had some serious moves! We must have looked ridiculous, my lumbering lurching next to her nimble boogie-woogie, but neither of us gave a damn. We were having way too much fun to care. It all made me feel so…young! And damn did it feel good to work up a sweat with my sexy date. The physical effort brought a flush and a sheen to Ann’s skin that made her glow even more beautiful. A teaser of things to come if things went to plan. The fiery look in Ann’s dark eyes as she watched me move told me that she too was thinking about what was to follow.
During our breaks I’d scan the crowd for Sarah. Thanks to a text I’d gotten I knew that she was here somewhere out there watching us but damned if I could spot her. I wondered if she had called it a night early and headed home but I never found the opportunity to text back to find out.
As the night wears on I am struck by how different this all was. New, fresh, and exciting. And it wasn’t just the venue. Ann had an entirely different energy about her than Sarah. My wife was sweet, quietly playful and generally happy to let me take charge. Ann was far bolder, more outgoing and more willing to initiate things herself. In these ways and a thousand others it was just…different. It brought out a strange mix of exhilaration and guilt. Exhilaration at trying something fun and new, guilt at not sharing it with the one I loved. The lesson that Sarah had warned me about was hitting deep. Exciting as it was it wasn’t all easy times on the other side of the cuck equation.
Despite the occasional pang in my heart the music, the laughter, and the crackling sexual energy sweeps me along through the night.

As Ann and I burst out of the club doors laughing and in each other’s arms I discover that Sarah had left as we bump straight into her! There is an awkward moment as she looks up at us and we down at her. With Ann in heels the pair of us towered over my petite partner. My eyes meet hers and for a moment time stands still. Seeing her so unexpectedly left us both reeling.
“Excuse us.” Ann says politely.
Sarah quickly bows her head to hide her face and peeps. “Excuse me, Sir. Ma’am.” She then retreats off toward her car. “Excuse me!”
As I watch my wife disappear into the night Ann loops her arm into mine. With a nod toward a walking path that ran along a nearby canal she says. “I need a second to catch my breath and cool off.”
“Uh…right.” I say, pulling my gaze back to my date. “It’s a nice night for a walk.”
“Yes.” She sighs a dreamy sigh, resting her head on my shoulder. “Yes it is.”
Arm in arm we stroll slowly along the moonlit path. The further we got from the club the quieter it became until there were just the soft sounds of the lapping water and a steady foot falls. The silence was comfortable and…intimate. During this walk, more than at any other time during the night, I am rocked by the realization that there was a life outside my cozy existence with Sarah. Not a better life, but a good one. I had been so satisfied with Sarah for so long that it never once occurred to me that there could be any other way. It shook me to my core.
Ann and I eventually find ourselves leaning on a rail staring down at the reflection of the moon rippling in the dark water. Dark, like her eyes.
“I’ve had a really good time tonight.” Ann says softly.
“Me too.” I answer honestly, even if it bring another pang to my heart. “A great time.”
She turns to look at me. I look at her. Under the soft light of the moon she was beautiful, so enchanting! The magic of the evening surrounds us. Her dark eyes delve deeply into mine…her lips purse…she leans closer…
…
…mere inches away my fingers press to her lips to block the kiss. Another second and it would have happened. Had it not been for a brief hesitation I could have stopped it earlier.
With a smile I slowly shake my head no.
She lets out a long sigh. At the end of it she was smiling too. A longing, wistful smile but one of understanding. Taking my hand she kisses the back of it.
“I got carried away.” She whispers. “Once a thief always a thief.” She lays a hand on my chest. “But this heart’s already been stolen.”
“Until death do us part. Sorry, Annie.”
“No. No. I’m sorry.” She lets out a breath. “Fuck. I messed this up, didn’t I?”
Putting my arm around her I pull her close. “It doesn’t have to be that way.”
“Oh?” She lays her head on my chest, the aroma of her sweat and perfume mingling in my nose.
“Though you may not have my heart.” I squeeze her tight to my side. “The of rest my hot, sexy bod is still yours for the night.”
“Pfff!” She starts to laugh. “Oh yeah?”
“I mean, you’ve gotta be wondering what you missed that day you spied on me in the locker room.”
“It’s crossed my mind.” She chuckles. “From time to time.”
