I'm the director of fiber operations for an ISP. Honestly, $100,000 for the build cost for a fiber connection isn't that bad. Fiber to the home is getting more common in certain areas but if they had to have a company lay new fiber to their home and they were 2-5 miles away from the nearest fiber splice point, $100k sounds about right. The biggest advantage to fiber isn't download, its upload (fiber is symmetrical which means it's the same bandwidth for both upload and download) - and for uploading videos on a regular basis, it makes sense. I'm betting there might even be a way to further optimize this with Google Cloud Platform. The other thing to consider is that they might have went with a multi-gig connection (such as a 10gbps) - which makes the electronics more expensive.

My friends and I knew someone (we refer to him as "dumbass") who turned a corner so hard he ended completely flipping his car over on the hood and totaling it. He tried to convince everyone he was going the speed limit on a 35 mph zone. Then he said his grandpa went to the mechanics and got the wrong sized tires. He's a pathological/compulsive liar if that wasn't obvious. Not related to a car accident at all, but I still think this is hilarious. Another time he got fired for not coming into a make-up to a mandatory meeting because he thought waking up at 8 am on a Sunday morning was "ridiculous." He then started talking shit about the job trying to make it sound like it was their fault he got fired. He talked about the accident and complained about using public transit because it "TOOK ONE HOUR BOTH WAYS" (he actually put that in all caps). However, my favorite is probably when he said, "we all know time brings changes..." and proceeded to talk about the job overturn (that didn't effect him- reading this, you could tell he has never worked a day in his life) and complained that the staff had changed. The best part was this was supposed to be his resume because he sent it to a "friend" to proofread. That's how the rest of us got it. What's almost as good is that same friend pulled strings to get him that job. He was there 5 months. A few months later, he started lying to people and said he got his old job back because "they fired everyone else and they had to take him back." He's almost 30 and lives in his grandparent's basement (that he turned into a trap house). Some time after that, he got hit by car (got sent to the ICU) because he was high off his ass and riding his skateboard in the middle of night wearing all black. When we heard about this, we all guessed what happened almost to a T. And for some reason, he was also carrying his guitar and it got completely destroyed. If you thought he was unlucky then, around the same time frame, he lost about $1k and told everyone he "didn't know how it happened." We all suspect anything related to drugs. Just to paint a picture of how much people don't like him, his grandpa once told him "the best parts of you slid down your mother's legs when you were born." And my best friend told him, "God made you as a joke, you failed fucking abortion." He makes russ, logan paul, jake paul, ricegum, and jaystation combined look very, very likable. I think about this a lot, especially when I'm starting to feel bad and depressed.

I saw a comment on YT that said the Dobre bros' mum was an Olympic gymnast. Just looked it up and she was a silver medalist in 1988, and won other world championships too. Look up "Aurelia Dobre". Maybe that's where they get the money from idk
