Anyway, Noel, I think the reason your fans were chill to watch you "be awkward" on stage is because you, and other YouTube comedians, have a different relationship with your fans than average stand-up comedians. I could insult YouTube for hours but it is a platform that kinda blurs the boundaries between fan and artist, in negative and positive ways. Comedy on YouTube is dependent on the personality of the comedian, not just the material they perform, and the audience feels more equal and open with them. This can be good, it creates a trust and balance, and bad, entitled fans or artists can easily take advantage of that trust and break the balance. Blah blah blah I take comedy too seriously, but yeah that's my hypothesis. And I'm sure you're already aware of all of this. But imma leave this up because I should be shamed for my fake deep takes.

I get what you mean but I think it’s more along the lines of lgbtq+ based content, like yes those creators are gay or bi but their videos don’t focus on that, like if someone were to make a video that deals with their identity and mention it in the title it would be more likely to be demonetized and thus suppressed by algorithm.
