This song was actually in mono, the stereo edit is a fan thing. In this case, the song wasn't ruined, but the stereo did a distraction that wasn't present in the original. In some other cases, the stereo remixes Youtube brings up for NES songs completely butcher the original musical intent. I would advise steering clear of WiiGuy's "8BitStereo" mixes entirely.
The BRM
Maniac Mansion is for all intents and purposes the first point and click adventure game on PC, this is the NES port, which was extremely popular at the time. The story is about a guy named Dave and his friends who join together to rescue his girlfriend from a mad scientist.
