It is fantastic situational music but I don't think it was intended to be an earworm like a lot of other final battle music. IMO it's meant to be creepy and unsettling, I think it speaks to Nobuo's talent because he composed something that feels purposely hopeless and anxiety-inducing.

I don't think it is bad. But I think FFIX has a lot of better songs. It is INTERESTING, seen for itself, but I've never head one 'Yeah FFIX - The Final Battle is a real banger.' x,D But I think how you talk your opinion it is really considering of the people who love that music when you yourself are not completely smitten.
