And on top of brilliant use of silhouette he his viewer in then further with those wonderful expressions of his.
Suggested Homework:
Study the Rockwells provided and trying sketching (through simple construction) by isolating just 1 to 3 of body parts at a time at first the character and emotion he's conveying.

Hey Steve, I hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you have any opinions about the drawings of Richard Diebenkorn, especially his figurative work. They wouldn't be considered academic at all but, I'm attracted to the rawness of his lines and shading for some reason. Could something like that work now to tell a story or is it too crude?
