January Round-Up (+ Feb 7th Event in Portland!)
🕑 Added 2024-02-03 20:29:14 +0000 UTCGuess what? I'm doin' an event next week in Portland!
Emily Nagoski, PhD, is kindly tolerating me as her conversation partner at the Portland release party of her newest (brilliant) book on sexual relationships in long-term partnerships, Come Together! If her name seems familiar that's because she's written the bestselling books Come As You Are and Burnout- the former of which I provided the illustrations of vulvas 😏 So let's all Come Together for this great chat!
Wednesday, February 7th at 7 PM
Powell's City of Books
1005 W Burnside St., Portland
Now! On to my projects of January!
🔒 COMIC: Letters From Space Camp (Day 2, page 3) 🔒 Patrons Only
Hey-hey! New page is up of Letters From Space Camp, my memoir graphic novel about going through the Intensive Outpatient Program at the hospital!
January Daily Photo
Every day of January I took a self portrait with my phone's camera self-timer, capturing me in my natural environment. Over the last decade that I've been doing it off-and-on, it's a project that's let me revisit rooms I've forgotten and places that don't exist any more. It's less-so a selfie and more-so a documentation of my life in that moment, doing exactly what I would have been doing without a camera present. Some of the pictures even turn out kinda good!
🕛 Week 1 🕒 Week Two 🕕 Week Three 🕘 Week Four 🕛 🔒 Week Five - Patrons Only 🔒
🔒 COMIC(s): My First Vibrator 🔒 Patrons Only
In 2003, I made a comic for this anthology about my first vibrator and, consequently, my first orgasm. And then, ten years later, in 2013, Matt and I launched Oh Joy Sex Toy and I made a brand new comic about that same experience- but this time as a toy review for our site!
Red Fern Coral (paper sculpture thing? also an accidental diary entry)
I crafted a red coral fern out of paper and wire and then as I assembled this post I realized I'd actually made it five years ago and then I kind of spiraled from there.
🔒 Oh, just hanging out with Dan Savage, talkin' 'bout dildos, like one does U_U 🔒 Patrons Only
Hey! Dan Savage had me on his podcast! The entire hour+ long episode is available for his paid subscribers -but don't worry, my patrons get to jump straight to our 13 minute conversation about butt toys and dual density dildos.
DARN it! (Mending)
I have gotten really into darning. I am not good at it, goodness, no, but I am stitching up my worn out socks at every opportunity. And I am getting better!
Alright, my dears! I'm out!
