Don't Forget, But Who's Singing the Song?
🕑 Added 2022-02-27 10:28:42 +0000 UTCAt long last!
I knew this video would take longer than normal because it requires me to highlight vast quantities of text while it prints in video, which I've never done before, but, oh boy did I not expect the other reason this was delayed.
In short, I play the title song, and youtube copyright struck it. Now, normally, I would have anticipated this, and planned around it, but when I uploaded a test version of the video to see if that would be an issue, it was not! And I have no idea why.
So instead of having one or two version of the video, this week you get four! Wowie that is... too many actually, I do not recommend trying to upload and support 4 separate videos at once.
But here we are, the video is done, next time I'm staring down the barrel of a 25 minute video, I'm splitting it up. No one can convince me otherwise. Brace your future wallets.

(in download it's 'now with robots')

(in download it's 'Don't Forget Original Version')

With 4 videos, it is kind of hard to keep track of what's what, so if a title doesn't match, or the subtitles got scrambled about, please let me know ASAP so I can fix my mistake. As my confusion grew I started changing the names of things between files? But I mean, it's too late to fix it now. I'm not renaming and re-zipping all those files again, especially not at 5am.
Remember: You need to be logged into your Patreon email to use the youtube links.
If you are from the future and that's not working, give me a poke, because those... those don't get applied retroactively, I have to manually go in and type those emails one at a time.
Edit: Curious about what's different but don't wanna waste an entire hour? I got you covered.
For the Copyright Friendly Version, the changes are at time stamps 2:48 & 23:52
For the Original Version, the changes are at time stamps 2:48 and 23:27

At this point in the Story, Susie is at least a co-protagonist, but I think each of the main characters will continue leading their own stories as the game progresses, especially with the prospect of multiple routes.

I actually really like that theory, but can't build much around it since we know so little about Dess. It would be interesting of the main character of the game was Noelle, and not the POV character too, definitely the sort of subversion of RPG tropes Toby is known for.

Another theory I've heard is that it's Dess singing to Noelle from the Dark World she's trapped in. As all of the lyrics would line up with Dess being familiar with how Dark Worlds work and Noelle's soul "shining through the cold".

The Ralsei theory is interesting with him being the only one to sing in-game so far. The "song from the sea" mention also got me thinking about how the riverperson, who looks awfully similar to cloaked Ralsei, first mentioned a song coming from the sea in Undertale.
Just finished watching it, I loved it! I never thought that Don't Forget could be plot relevant, it makes a lot of sense now. Keep up the good work, can't wait for the next video!
