What is Cuffing season?...also what if I quit YouTube? (lol) 🤫
🕑 Added 2022-10-13 21:00:11 +0000 UTCSo I haven't been feeling too creative or inspired lately. I honestly feel like I'm in a rut and have no clue what on Earth is happening next. Am I going to be able to keep just making a living off the internets? Is it worth the stress? Am I really doing anything of importance (I know I am to an extent but imposter syndrome will get you every time lol)? SHOULD I JUST APPRECIATE THE 2 YEARS I HAD ONLINE AND QUIETLY FALL INTO OBSCURITY???
But in all seriousness y'all, I really don't think I'm meant to be an online content creator...If I'm being completely honest...it's not for me. I'm a creative performer who cares about people, loves to learn, and just loves to chat with others and bring people together. Through conversation or creative works. If I had to pick a career hybrid it would be some Issa Rae/Keke Palmer/Oprah hybrid.
I know the internet is a great place (even with all its bad) and I do want to enjoy it from time to time...I just don't think I can handle it being my job anymore...
*sigh* here's hoping different avenues to make money become available so that I can start saving (without having to post so many videos) and eventually just fuck off from the space and create my own things in "the real world".
Anyways, here's an old video I did...

This is an excellent point.

Also- A lot of people who use YouTube typically see it as an Avenue to build their wider creative platform or to supplement it. This is often their Segway into book publishing deals, paid panelist or lecture tours on campuses or other venues, independent documentaries/series that they can post on Amazon or Netflix and their own businesses and entrepreneurship. It’s typically a starting place but rarely a destination. Hope all is well.
