This video contains my heart and soul, my tears and sweat, the best of the best of all that I have to give. This video is my essence, my purpose and my pride. But it is so much more than that.
It's an ultra cozy super soothing old-school style nostalgic ass Spa ASMR Roleplay!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember when we did ASMR like that?! Lol. Now that the ASMR scene is being overrun with all kinds of loveless trash, my body yearns for some of those good, wholesome, cozy tingles you get from a well made Spa ASMR Roleplay. No element that makes a good relaxation video is missing from this medley-
Wait... First... I have a confession to make...
*whispers casually* This is not the spa video I was asking you for feedback for. But I'll take it. I paid attention to your preferences in spa videos and used your feedback to make this video the best possible relaxation experience. The other spa video will come out eventually, too! It just needs some work. Ok, a lot of work. But I strive for it to turn out as good as this.
Truth be told, after a full month of working on stuff and none of it working out, I needed a win pretty badly. And what a win it is! I'm actually happy to contribute this gem of a video because I can honestly say - I did my best. There are still things I want to improve, and I'll talk about my struggle with perfectionism in an exclusive post later, but I did my absolute best with all of it and this is why I feel confident in publishing this. No step was skipped in the making of this. Recording over two nights, buying decoration for the background, getting as close to the vision in my head as possible while building the background, editing and uploading over the course of half a week, lots and lots of "proofreading", time setting (=making sure the timing of my speech sounded natural, not too fast, not too slow), hand selecting all the different triggers you hear, from the fabric to the tapping to the herbs to the water after comparing several options against one another, tweaking the color and ambience to near perfection... Nothing and absolutely nothing is in this video purely by chance. And, I think, it shows.
I just realized it probably sounds like I'm boasting, but, forgive me, it's just been such a long time since I've been truly happy with something I've created. Subsequently, since this video has been created and tweaked as a raw soundscape, I wasn't able to find music that complemented it - and while love how music can set the atmosphere and create a powerful vibe, this one just can't be improved one bit with any of the relaxing music I was able to find. Compared to the tone of my voice, any piece of music sounds too busy, too noisy and just wrong. If this doesn't put you to sleep, well, you are doomed.
I made a point of trying to get as much dimension and binaural-ness out of this experience as possible, aswell as liberally shifting between soft speaking and whispering all throughout the session. I also made sure there aren't any disruptive silences or very harsh noises and the recording gets quieter towards the end on purpose because as you fall asleep, your ears grow so much more sensitive and I did everything I could do avoid waking you up mid-recording. Would you believe me if I told you the original session was two and a half hours long?! Both for compression purposes and a better tingle experience, I squeezed it down to 70 minutes, keeping only the best of the best sounds while still giving you a realistic spa experience. I want this video to make you feel cozy and cared for, refreshed and at peace - and of course, induce a good night's rest. I hope you enjoy the careful blend of personal attention and relaxing triggers. This is the kind of video that, if someone else made it, I would probably come back to over and over. I hope it will hold the same space in your heart for you.
And lastly, as a token of my appreciation for you all sticking by me, even while I wasn't as productive as I'd like to be - complementary mp3 download!
This is also a challenge for myself to make 3 more quality videos this month. And this video is the new quality standard I'm working with. You can find timestamps on the YouTube page of the video itself. There's so much more I could say... But all I really want to say at this point is thank you for believing in me and supporting me in the creation of this lovely video. It's such a good feeling to be done with something and free to move on to the next amazing relaxation video. I'm ... well, I wouldn't call it humbled - that would be against my whole entire personality. But I'm satisfied. This was a satisfying video to make.
Thank you again and enjoy!
