It’d be so cool to see the characters drawn as cards in a card deck and see which card each character would be

Ooooh ! I think you're right, nice catch !

hidden card is a 3! id explain the reasoning fully but its hard to understand but basically; dieter showing his hand means he has all his cards lined up to be a set (3 sets technically) which means that, by counting up, the hidden card is a 3! this means dieter does NOT have the queen of hearts!!

if they were playing very obscure european game Durak, id understand but im completely lost

Edited: From my understanding, Dieter has a really good hand here. Assuming the hidden card in the shot isn't the Queen of hearts edited out and is a 3, his hand is a Gin. He might also try "knocking." Knocking with deadwood points is known as going down 👀, immediately ending the hand without giving the opponent a chance to play.

Quim out here making me learn how to play card games so I can understand if there are hidden meanings. 😭

Interesting. It'd be a different story if this was poker, hehe.

If this has actual meaning to the story my guess is this is all Dieters/SA's developlent to eachother so far and what has yet to come - in order. Presently on the 3 or 4 of spades in Dieters development. Assuming relationship early on can be interchangeable with friendship. And assuming Dieter thought he and Shin were starting to be more rather than just hoping, etc.
