I've seen hiatus' last from 2 months up to a year. It just depends on what the artist needs because sometimes it's a break for rest sake, a health issue, or life event like moving, or starting a family.

Also, no idea if this is because of different contracts but Lore Olympus and newer Webtoons like Homesick kept the fast pass episodes and the days until the least recent fast pass episode is free was set to whenever the webtoon returns.
