The Avengers Academy’s football is like any high school football field. Scoreboard, benches, stands, and even a hotdog vendor.
“One hotdog please,” Which is where young Spider-Man is standing in front of, “With ketchup and mustard.”
“Can do!” The strange man in a red uniform similar to Spider-Man jubilantly says, “Hey! My outfit is totally different!” He shouts out randomly before he proudly states, “It’s all leather.”
Spidey raises a brow at the man, “Okay? I uh didn’t say anything about your outfit.”
“Wasn’t talking to you,” Deadpool says as he finishes making the hero’s hotdog, “You could’ve put more effort into making my introduction.”
Spidey looks around curiously, “Who are you talking to?”
Deadpool waves him off, “Don’t worry about it. Here ya go!”
Spidey takes the dog from the weird man and walks away without another word.
“Seriously! Put more effort into this!”
(AN: Make me!)
“I once killed everyone in the universe! Don't think I won’t do it again!” Deadpool shouts to the sky.
Spider-Man does not look back as he walks toward the benches where everyone else is gathered.
Logan has an irritated look that is directed at Deadpool before he looks to Giant-Man, “Why did you invite him here?”
“I didn’t invite him,” Giant-Man says, “I thought you did.”
The feral mutant walks up to Deadpool and tells him, “Wade, leave.”
The guy gives a pleading look and puts his hands together, “C’mon~, Wolvie, please let me stay. I’ll behave, I pinky promise.”
“Forget it.” He says before walking back to the others.
“But I bought food and good liquor.”
That makes Logan stop and glance back to the mercenary, who is holding up Jack Daniels bottles, “…Don’t spike the kids' drinks.”
Deadpool fists pumps before he pulls out a red notebook from his back.
(HOW THE HELL DID TOU GET THAT?!)
Deadpool scoffs, “Please. I killed an entire crew who wrote my ‘kill the entire universe’ story. You think I can’t find another universe where you wrote this out in the red notebook instead of the blue one,” he opens the notebook that is filled with words and sticky notes, “Now let’s see what you have planned that I can have fun with.”
And while the merc with the mouth is indulging himself with light reading, Spidey is enjoying his hotdog while observing the people around him. He doesn’t know these people personally but on the flight over Logan made everyone aware of who will be on the field.
On the Avengers side Giant Man, Tigra, Quicksilver, Hawkeye are the grownups playing. The students playing are Hazmat, Mettle, White Tiger(Ava Ayala), Finesse, Striker, X-23, Reptil, Lightspeed, a She-Hulk(Lyra), and Veil.
On the X-Men’s side, there is Wolverine, Iceman, Kitty Pryde, Rogue, Gambit, Frenzy, and Warbird. Though Ms. Pryde is reffing and only Wolverine, Iceman, and Warbird are playing. The others are there for the show. The students playing are Spider-Man, Hank, Bobby, Jean, Rockslide, Sharkgirl, Kid Omega, Glob Herman, and Julian.
He is noticing how many looks he’s getting from the Avenger Academy students and staff.
Seeing this, Logan decides to address it, “Alright,” he says, getting everyone's attention, “As you might’ve heard, there are some faces here that you’d recognize from old newspapers. Yes these three are the real Bobby, Hank, and Jean. They were brought here from the past along with Cyclops, Angel, Spider-Man.”
Spidey waves at the gathered students with his free hand while eating with the other, “Hi.”
They just give him a range of flat looks as some of them don’t have facial features to express their feelings. But he can feel it in their eyes.
Yeesh. Tough crowd.
One of them, he thinks is Mettle because of his weird red metal skin, raises his hand and asks, “Aren’t there, like, serious consequences to doing that? Who was dumb enough to do it?”
The entirety of the X-Men point their fingers to one individual.
“Hmm?” Spidey looks around in surprise as all the fingers are pointing at him before he turns around and realizes he is standing in front of young Hank, “Oh.” He steps aside and points a finger at Hank too.
Hank is abashed before he straightens up and says, “I would like to clarify that it was the older me. And he was dying.
“And older me fixed him.” Spidey announces proudly, “Along with some little alien dude called Broo.”
Quinte Quire snorts and rolls his eyes before he mutters, “Big deal.”
His comment is ignored as Hank speaks again, “Okay now that we addressed that, let’s go over the rules. They are very simple. You lose your flag, you’re out of play. Powers are allowed but no unnecessary roughness.” The large man gives Wolverine a dull look, “And because some grown men seem to hold grudges like immature children, adults will be participating as well.”
Logan smiles without an ounce of shame, “See it’s those kinds of comments that will get you knocked flat on your-”
“Logan.” Kitty warns him with a stern tone.
The man rolls his eyes before announcing, “Alright, get your flags and then get to your side.”
Spidey walks over to where the others are gathered, getting flags from that Rogue lady, and overhears some conversations.
“Laura, can we talk?” That Julian kid is talking to that pretty girl that doesn’t smile.
The young hero glances at them as the girl walks past him, “We have nothing to talk about.”
Ouch. Peter winces in sympathy as the guy seems frustrated and heartbroken.
Gambit walks up to Julian and paces a hand on his shoulder, “You’re really a glutton for punishment eh?”
Julian gives the Cajun a glare and shrugs off his hand, “Back off.”
The older man is unbothered by the glare, “Look, I don’t like you, you don’t like me. But I’m going to offer some advice that you clearly need to hear,” he gets in close before he says, “Let go.”
Julian is taken aback by this, “What?”
“Let go,” Gambit reiterates with a shrug, “If you care about her as much as you say you do, then you need to let her go. Let her find herself. If she come back, then she yours.”
Boy he makes it sound easy.
“You make it sound so easy,” Julian unknowingly stated what he and Spidey are thinking.
Gambit sighs, “It’s not,” he says as he looks over to where the kids are still getting their flags, “Believe me. But like I said, if you care about them like you say, then you do it for them.”
The man’s eyes are on the Rogue lady who is still handing out flags.
‘Boy, for a school that teaches kids to be responsible with their powers, there is a lot of drama.’ Spidey muses as he watches
“In the meantime,” Gambit nudges the young teen as he turns no sights to another girl, who has also been eyeing Julian for a while but turned away when they looked at her, “No one say you gotta be a monk, eh?”
Julian seems to be considering the man’s words, while Spidey watches with mild interest.
He watches as the other teen goes to talk to the other girl and can’t help but comment, “It's like a telenovela.”
“It’s pronounced telenovela,” a voice from behind scares him. He whips his head around to see the girl who walked away from Julian.
He raises his hand awkwardly greeting the girl., “Uh hi. I’m Spider-Man.”
“I know” she blankly states, “My name is Laura Kinney.”
A few moments of awkward silence with the girl just staring at him, Spider-Man can’t help but inquire,
“Does big me know you?”
Laura nods and says, “We’ve met and had a few interactions with each other.”
“You mean team ups?” Spidey questions to which the girl nods and he asks, “Were they good?”
If they weren’t then it would explain why she doesn’t seem happy to see him.
“I consider you to be efficient but very aggravating.” Laura states.
That cleared up nothing, “Is that a yes?”
