🕑 Added 2024-09-20 01:55:14 +0000 UTCChos of Woes! As promised, here is the second installment of our honeymoon diaries. We are at the gate at PDX, next to one of those people who listens to videos out loud on their phone in a crowded place. Can you imagine life as such a creature?
This is a rather thin update, except for the news about how our cat Zigzag would not stop blepping last night when we tried to shoo her from the bedroom. Eventually we carried her and her blep to the landing and shut the door.
If you happen to be at Heathrow in about ten hours, let’s grab a kidney pie and mange tout fizzy lifter. I don’t think this dispiriting chicken bento and welded-together-gyoza dinner is going to last me all the way to Margheritaville. (The cool-down lap of fresh, hot Burgerville fries was, however, a perfect kiss goodbye to the land of arrhythmia and oil.)

Thank you Jonathan! I’ve just added this to the Rome itinerary, while in London. Just the airport part, though, which sucks

You asked earlier for recommendations and I wasn't able to respond, so now here is mine: Pizza Florida in Rome. It's a takeout/lunch style pizzeria where you order by the gram (100 for normal lunch, 200 if you're real, real hungry). It's on Via Florida, across the street from the ruin of Largo Argentina, where Julius Caesar was murdered. The ruin is too fragile for humans to traipse around in, so it was turned into a cat sanctuary. Go for lunch, get a slice of the sausage and mushroom, and a slice of the buffalo mozzarella/basil/cherry tomato and see how many distant cousins of Ray and Beef you can count while you eat. It's very near the Pantheon and the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II
