bonus short story:
Bejel’s disdain for the human race was something she was almost proud of. Onstage with the rest of Hell-Hole, she was a force of chaos, her voice a shriek that tore into the (mostly) human crowd. No performance was complete without her ritual: a middle finger thrust down at the crowd, venomous taunts spat into the mic, or a beer can launched with precision at some lackluster fan whose energy dared to falter. In the metal scene, this wasn’t cruelty, it was communion. The masochistic swarm in the pit only roared louder, their sweat-soaked bodies crashing harder, feeding off her contempt and turning it into adrenaline.
After the show, those same men, wild-eyed and bruised from the mosh pit. lined up backstage, moths to her flame. Bejel welcomed them with a cat’s hungry grin, her laughter sharp as broken glass. She’d pull them into a private room one by one, all too eager to play, leaving them all marked. Bite marks blooming like dark roses, bruises mapping out her abuse. And the men? They wore her scars like badges, grinning through the ache, as if her touch was worth every wince. Some even had the angry red imprint of a horn’s sharp jab.
