Next Patreon Story

Here's the poll to determine the next Patreon story, along with an explanation for each choice. After the experience of revisiting Brawnafied World Origins and In-Shape, I'm not comfortable with simply continuing the older series as they are - each would need at least a retouching, and some of them contain elements I wish to change for various reasons (such as growing characters under age 18). Apologies to those who are patiently waiting for those series to continue, and/or do not want those elements changed.
Tara vs Thora 2: This would continue the story of Tara vs Thora, most likely covering the next 1-3 days of her training (number of days depends on how detailed things are)
PowerCore Reimagined: This would be a reimagining of PowerCore. It would still feature Kristi as a young woman who is inducted into the PowerCore, but would have a much more consistent and planned out power scaling/growth, along with a wider cast of other heroes with varying power levels for her to interact with. The story would be completely rewritten, though would feature many aspects from and callbacks to the original series.
Proteus Effect Revised: This would be a revision of Proteus Effect. It would retain the same core plot and characters, but change the characters to be attending community college (instead of them all being conveniently 18 year old high schoolers), and change the rules of how the game transforms the characters to be more internally consistent. The story would be almost entirely rewritten, giving the characters improved characterizations. It would also likely feature more sexual and romantic content than the original.
Legend of the Crystals Remastered: This would feature bigger changes than the In-Shape and BWO retouches had, but less than the above PowerCore and Proteus Effect concepts. Much of the story would be rewritten while keeping the plot the same, and the rules regarding how power is gained would be made more internally consistent.

Potential new one-offs: While a long-term goal is to finish the original series, it is still fun to explore other ideas with one-off stories. The following are ideas that I've been thinking of for a while, and already have various amounts of words written for.
Rory's Breakthrough: The one-off I have the most developed, as I worked on it randomly years ago. A very straightforward FMG story - Rory has spent years trying to develop methods to make muscles grow, but they've all failed so far. He finally has a breakthrough with a serum, but while testing, it seems to only work on his sister Ciara, and not him.
Riley and Nathan (working title): Riley and her brother Nathan find themselves on what appears to be an abandoned alien spaceship. While Nathan 'plays' with a computer terminal, Riley goes off to explore the rest of the ship. She finds a gym where exercising makes her muscles instantly grow. Then she finds a machine than teaches her a great deal of things, including the purpose of the ship, and other rooms that enhance her abilities in many ways to superhuman levels.
The Power Pose: Mei has trained diligently for over a year to hold her weight up with just her hands in an advanced yoga pose with the express purpose of holding this position at a specific place at a specific time to receive an immense power promised in legends. Her boyfriend Jacob refused to believe the stories and never trained to do the pose. Now he watches as at the fated time her body starts to transform right before him.
The Goddess at the Gym: A socially anxious young man visits the gym at 2 AM, as it's always empty at that time. To his surprise, a mysterious young woman appears and starts working out as well. Making things even stranger for him - it seems that everything he thinks about the woman, no matter how outlandish it may be, ends up being true.
Your Growing Tomboy Friend (working title): A second-person story (refers to 'you', similar to A Day at the Park) in which your tomboy friend, Amelia, starts lifting weights in your garage gym. While you experience a normal, slow progression, her body changes day by day. I have not forgotten about The Trouble With Magic or Beverly and Betty, but I'm uncertain at this time how to proceed with them, so decided to let something else go next for now. Torn between giving Trouble With Magic a huge reimagining, or simply revising it with older characters. And as for Beverly and Betty, I'm unconfident in my ability to write a convincing lesbian romance like that - though the series does have fans.

They'd definitely come home to visit sometimes, and Colleen would likely be visiting more often. (After they eventually develop increasingly FTL travel and/or teleportation this becomes much easier ;) )

I'm surprised Power Core isn't scoring better, that's one of my favorites. Anyway, a lot of these sound fun, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for your reply. I thought a potential continuation of Holiday Cheer would be similar to what you described(although I didn't think about the aliens/outer space stuff). Do you mean that Colleen and Sally would mostly keep adventuring without Guy after Christmas? It would make sense for Sally, especially whit the characteristics you described, but I imagined Colleen would focus mainly on being the ultimate mom for Guy.No matter what you decide, I'm looking forward to wathever story you'll write next.

I'm interested in writing all of these! Unfortunately time and mental energy are limited resources - so I like to let Patrons decide from a list like this. As for Holiday Cheer. No plans for an epilogue, Cindy was supposed to be the final installment of that. To answer your questions - Colleen and Sally become increasingly powerful for the rest of time (they travel to other planets and meet aliens and become even more powerful - eventually strong enough to lift entire planets too. Sally, hungrier for power and a harder worker, ends up 2x+ stronger than Colleen) and their transformation is permanent - though they do check in with Guy from time to time =)

All of these sound great. I would like to see all of them eventually if you want to write all thse stories at some point in the future, but you should focus on the stories you want to tell and the ones you find the most important to finish. But I do wonder if youy're planning to write a conclusion/epilogue to your Holiday Cheer story, since that one ended on quite the cliffhanger, with both Colleen and Sally going out as superheroes to spread as much holliday cheer as they can, with Guy left at the house, not knowing how powerfull his mother and sister will be when they return. And of course not knowing if their transformation will be permanent or if they will return to normal after Christmas. I guess it would make sense (if you want to continue the story) to write/release it during the hollidays.

Well what I mean that even if it's a text file with some writing or a document with plans for the game I would still love to see it.

Unfortunately, it's in a very broken and incomplete state. The complete version was probably going to end up having 4x the words as the original (which is why things fell apart). Would really like to make some more one-off games though =)

Is any of DATP2 playable? or even just readable? because I would love to see it if you still have it. I understand that lifesim is still being updated the problem I have with it just that I've played it too many times so I'm more interested in new games from you.

Athena's personality will definitely remain the same either way. Haven't given up on game creation, though admittedly most of the 'game development brain energy' ends up going to Life Sim. But I do have some other ideas. Not comfortable with doing a Patreon for them since the games can end up taking so long to make. As for DATP2.0, unfortunately it feature creeped to an uncontrollable point, and if I open up the twine file today I have little to no idea what's going on in it, lol. (A valuable lesson learned to keep the number of features in mind realistically manageable)

Trouble with Magic is my favorite unfinished story of yours. I just hope that Athena's personality will remain the same. I still hope that you haven't given up on game creation as A day in the park is a game I still play to this day. I remember that you talked about a reworked version of that a long time ago. What happened to that?

Thanks for the reply! Really like that dynamic you described for the power pose story! That could definitely be fun to play with. And if any of those others get made I'm sure I'll love those too haha.

The Power Pose would be a little bit different, as it's more like Mei has been practicing for this and telling Jacob about the legend for a year and he was totally dismissive, and now it's happening right before their eyes (and he had the opportunity to be growing too if he took her seriously). The meditation growth would be more like girl and guy both sincerely try something, but only girl is able to benefit. Power Book is definitely a possibility in the future, though it could be a voiced story or a shorter story.

Tough choices! I am very partial to some of the new stories though-- especially Rory's Breakthrough and The Power Pose. Would "the power pose" be sort of like the meditation growth story you've mentioned before? (that I think there was some AI art of?). Also would be curious if that AI art with the "power book" would ever be considered for a one off. Either way honestly all of these sound great!
