Alpha King Kane part 13
🕑 Added 2025-09-11 19:49:50 +0000 UTCPreviously…
Tonight, I will join this tradition for the first and last time. I will offer my little mate the seed most women in this kingdom covet. The seed no one has been granted.
And she will understand once and for all that I’ve got no intention of rejecting her just because of her omega blood. I will give her Alpha pups as proof of devotion. She can take my seed from the goblet, or right from the source in my pants.
Either way, she will be the only omega receiving a gift from me tonight.
PRESENTLY…
ROSALIE
Everything descends into madness quicker than I can wrap my head around it. My day–so peaceful in its twilight–becomes a nightmare. The mist that enveloped this place in mystery and gave me a sense of safety is gone with the wind, and now the eyes of the world are on me. Bright and clear, their judgments written in their irises. So potent that my skin sparks everywhere as if I’m being lit aflame.
And when Kane touched me…it was all amplified. Adrenaline rushed my veins; Fear of this unknown man and fear of the emotions rising within me.
I knew I would change once I became of age. That I would abandon my childlike fancies and impulsive tendencies. I feel it now; the apprehension. The unspoken warning to tread carefully and walk on eggshells in this palace because one wrong step, and everything crumbles.
I just didn’t think an Alpha King would be the motivation for my maturity.
But it’s the only way to survive him. Acting impulsively will create a domino effect, because Alphas are known to dish out what they receive.
My father is clinging to my hands and spouting blasphemies. He’s demanding we run and be free again.
I feel I left my body and am floating in this room, watching everything unfold from a second perspective. I hear Father’s words, and my heart aches in response to the despair written on his wrinkled expression.
But I cannot find my voice.
I can’t believe this is happening to me; A nobody. For breaking the rules and trespassing, I stumbled into the beta–turned–Alpha King. Had I never rebelled, I would’ve never met him. I wouldn’t have insisted with my family that we travel to the North.
I suppose I’ve got no one to blame but myself for this predicament.
The eyes of the world are pinned on me, comparing me to the elegant Omega that was supposed to be crowned as Luna today. The Alpha King has downgraded by choosing me. The world sees it, my father sees it–and yet Kane doesn’t care.
The King is mad. He must be if he cannot see that I’ve got nothing to offer him save for a shaken kingdom and weakened claim on the throne.
I am trouble. I always have been.
But Kane…
He’s not fazed in the slightest by the impending uprising. Eyes solid, painted with intent and welcoming all enemies so that he could drown them in his darkness.
I cannot allow my father to rise against him, because he would not win. As unshifted Omegas, we don’t stand a fucking chance.
“Run?” I whisper shakily, finally coming to my senses.
I look over my shoulder to ensure the Alpha King isn’t lingering.
“Don’t be absurd! Please watch your words!”
If my father was caught conspiring…he would be punished. I can’t have that.
“Rosalie!” He shakes me by my shoulders. “Your sister will aid us. She’ll stay in a room and pretend to be you. So long as the King doesn’t touch her, he won’t know the difference.”
He’s relying on our identical scents and faces to pull off this coup?! That would never work!
The King is no fool, and he clearly cannot keep his hands to himself for long. My sister couldn’t pull this off, and I would never ask her to. She is too timid, too skittish. Sharing a room with that Alpha King would ail her.
I hear running footsteps before Eryn barrels our way, looking as pale and ratted as the rest of us.
“I was securing the ladder and the clock! What—what the fuck…” she pants, resting a hand at her throat. “Rosalie! What are you going to do?”
I don’t know.
I tried my best hand: I gave Kane a guilt-free pass out of this mateship so that he could continue living happily ever after with Lyssara. But the man practically laughed in my face and he disregarded Lyssara. A gesture some would call romantic, while all I see is the callousness.
My father snatches my hand and yanks me. He tries the doorknob of a random room and twists it open. Within seconds, my entire family is in the large storage room, where the air quickly becomes heavy with gloom. Ironically, we stand beside dustpans and brooms as we decide how to clean up the mess that has become my life.
My father’s eyes flash with panic as a maelstrom of words floods from his lips. He speaks so quickly, he’s almost incoherent.
“Eryndor, you must help Rosalie escape. Swap your clothes and keep your head low as I escort her out of the North. The King won’t be able to tell the difference. We will travel—”
“No!” I interject. “Do you hear yourself? This is a rash plan. There is no escaping Kane. How could you ask me to have Eryndor of all people assume my identity? Besides, even if it works, how would we all reunite?! Eryndor would still be stuck in this hell, and she would have to answer for aiding in our escape! No! I won’t have this!”
This is a deadly plot.
King Kane will not take kindly to being cheated.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath before turning and heading for the door.
I’ve heard enough. I will not put a target on my familys back. Not again.
One way or another, I’ll have to convince Kane that having me around is detrimental to his throne. He will send me away on his own accord.
As soon as I grab the doorknob, pain explodes at the back of my head. My legs falter, and I fall as blackness consumes me.

When I awaken, I first feel the pain in my temples and body jostling atop a wooden wagon. I can hear the tired, old horse huffing as he pulls the wagon forward onto unknown lands.
Opening my eyes, I find a tarp tossed over me.
My family…they took me.
And there’s no doubt in my heart that Kane is already hunting us.

He thinks she would see his genuine devotion to her, jump at the change to impregnate herself with an alpha pup, or a combination of the two. He’s arrogant and slightly foolish for thinking offering her his most prized possession (Alpha blood) will resolve all her concerns.

I know I'm slow, but I don't understand what supposed to happen with his offering.
