I think I got it figured out. The duplicate formulas I can fix, but the freezing has something to do with the new textures on g8.1. If I load anything else besides one of my custom characters it doesn't do it. I am probably going to just start a new content library from scratch since I have over a terabyte of content after deleting all the readme's and promo images. I need to get rid of stuff I don't use anyway. BMRecreation (DeviantArt) made a data pack to make expressions work with g8.1 you can get it here: https://www103.zippyshare.com/v/x89u523z/file.html

I get the duplicate formulas error, but I also get it on Genesis 3 female due to a character I installed. Just been too lazy to remove the reference. I'm going to look into the duplicate error for Gen8.1 though, that shouldn't be happening.

Daz freezes when I have G8.1 loaded and switch the viewport to Iray. It never did that before. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled and it still does it. I also get a "duplicate formulas" error. Anyone have this issue?

For this type of character, the new expression features should really help, and as has been said, it's free, and you can use anything G8 on it. No reason to buy V8 at all.

Genesis 8.1 is free, man. Just download the Genesis 8 Essensial from the install manager, you will get both Genesis 8 and 8.1. However I agree, currently the only real benefit with using Genesis 8.1 is better textures and expression, and morphs made for Genesis 8 would be able to be used in both 8 and 8.1 (I don't know if it's vice versa or not).

Since most people have no interest in Genesis 8.1 right now especially since you have to pay for it and the only real benefit is better textures I'd say it's probably smart for you to stick to Genesis 8 and 3
