Nice! I do plan on getting certified in something at some point in the future. It'll take me years to get to that point though, I am currently obese, but working on it. Torn between RKC and IKFF. Yeah it's funny re the politics of the big kettlebell names. I discover someone, I watch some of their media, I discover they're an anti-vaxxer, COVID denier, or some other kind of reactionary. Dan John is a rare exception to that. In the future, might try to find you on here and ask you some more certification questions, hope you don't mind.

RKC 1&2 certified coach here. Agree with you on Pavel. His book has some great idioms but hard to support a bitcoin slanging, conservative but it’s a decent start. Simple & Sinister comes to mind for getting a base understanding, Iron Cardio by Brett Johnson if you want a more “strength/strong” approach and Dynamic Sports Performance by Darius Gilbert if you want to use kettlebells for speed and athletic training. These are ”hardstyle” methods. Never tried sport style so can’t speak to it much but they are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world.

Check out Dan John's podcast and other material. Also check out Steve Kotter and Mark Wildman. Tom has mentioned Pavel Tsatsouline before: he's fine, but he's kind of gimmicky and specialized. The original "Enter the Kettlebell" video is kinda outdated. It's like going to Minnesota Fats for billiards lessons instead of Willie Mosconi or Efren Reyes. Edit: my kettlebell shilling ass couldn't even wait 5 minutes because you guys start talking about how you are literally already using kettlebells. I wished in one hand and pood in the other Try sport-style kettlebell. It's basically a marathon style for conditioning and endurance. You lift as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
