Sylvie, thank you for creating this library, I learn so much through watching the legends and hearing your commentary. It is fascinating to see how they move and train! I have a question in regards to having a rhythm in a fight. I love how Chatchai had you practice it and insert your strikes into that rhythm. Now my question is: what are your thoughts on the utilitarian value of creating a rhythm and bouncing during a fight? You are a clinch fighter and in my opinion, not having a rhythm also has an advantage for it makes you unpredictable. What are your thoughts? Do you think the fact that you do not create a rhythm and instead close distance whenever you can are the reasons why you are so successful? Correct me if I am wrong in my interpretation of the whole thing please. I will appreciate your comments. Once more thank you for this invaluable gift of a library!

Chatchai is an amazing coach. In all his videos in this library he provides world class instruction on basic mechanics with nice vehicles to impart the feeling of the correct movement patterns. One observation. Turning effortlessly about the centerline requires an upright posture. Many athletes place the position of the head/shoulders too far forward. Almost as if they equate tucking the chin with positioning the head forward in space. The head has a good amount of mass but it is also the seat of attention. When its positioned forward of the body, eventually it constrains the overall movement pattern to be more forward and turning around the centerline becomes truncated while in motion. The body should support the head with the legs not the back. With the correct posture and head placement, turning around the centerline should feel like a perpetual motion machine and the pattern can be sustained even as the volume of strikes increase.

I dont teach them fully extended for beginners, especially in shadow boxing as you dont impact and you can hurt your ligaments. Build your confindence little by little, and then advance to fully extension. My two cents :-) Chatchai´s way is amazing, both balance and power! Thats the way I teach them now.

I have learned both ways. Chatchai's locks into place in a brilliant way. I think Sagat's are ever so slightly bent at the elbow. I don't hurt my elbow when it locks, but it might if you miss.

I have been told a million times that my straight punches aren't long enough, that they should be at full extension. I think my reservation is that seems like it could hurt the elbow on impact. Am I wrong in this thought?

Chatchai is an awesome guy and instructor!
