Muay Thai Bones Podcast - #7 (for iTunes) Buddhism, Sparring, Time
🕑 Added 2019-06-10 16:47:41 +0000 UTCPatreon just got better! If you are new to Muay Thai Bones it's a podcast my husband and I Kevin started a few months ago on YouTube, discussing everything under the sun in Muay Thai. The idea started because we have these epic trips crossing Thailand, usually after I have fought, and on these trips we have amazing conversations. We thought, why don't we just share these conversations with everyone? Some come on the road with us and talk about all things Muay Thai. This is our most recent one.
Lots of people have asked for us to publish it on iTunes so and not just on YouTube, so they can follow along more easily, so this is the first iTunes available episode of the podcast, just for patrons.
iTunes: Read this quick article to see how to add Muay Thai Bones podcast to iTunes or other subscription services. Easy to do! Just grab your exclusive RSS link.
This is the kind of creative content you are supporting, so the RSS link is private, exclusive for patrons as a thank you. If everyone is enjoying it we'll be publishing our future Muay Thai Bones podcasts in this way, and possibly adding more audio episodes, like audio versions of Library Sessions, and even more.
If you like though, you can also hang with us on the public YouTube video:

What is Ning?
" what I wrote about Ning last night: "I liken this to an element of Vipassana Meditation practice. The short version of explaining Vipassana is that, unlike tranquility meditation, where you're trying to get into a kind of mindless trance, Vipassana takes as its object the body (roop) and the mind (nam) and you don't want to change consciousness at all. You want to be focused, concentrated, but not overly focused/concentrated (which would be a trance or tranquility) and not overly distracted (unable to remain in observation of the two objects). So, to use your example of the leg kicks, Roop (the body) is kicked and feels pain, Nam (the mind) observes the pain - neither of those facts are YOU. There is no "I." It is not your leg nor is the sensation your pain. Rather "pain is happening," and because the body has sensors to experience that pain and the mind has sensors to observe the experience of that pain, the reception is also happening. So, rather than that the gods or Fate or the universe has willed the pain, it's not held apart from the one-ness of everything else. "Pain is happening."" Visit the Muay Thai Roundtable forum at 8limbsus.com for more of my thoughts on Ning.
