to clarify: absolutely. But, I meant more in the fashion of an explicit personal answer for Michael at the moment of greatest story tension, rather than you solving this particular issue for all men. Though, we would all be grateful if it does occur to you :D

Leire talked a little bit about this in her epigraph preceding this one, in chapter 52. It's a continuation of the same thought that she expresses this chapter, that we cannot be sure we're using our power correctly without that perfect view of the future. I've tried to make that problem one of the primary themes of her writing, going all the way back to some of the first epigraphs she's provided. The core philosophy that she (and by extension Jeorg) are fond of referencing is her admonishment to "improve yourself relentlessly" despite failure and struggle. She's not that different from Saleh, in that regard...

Luc's right that power is what leads to conflict. If no one had any power over any other, and no power whatsoever stood to be gained in any way, conflict would be impossible. But power is inevitable so long as there's life. So in the end we have to constantly make judgements on power and conflict, to try to make our power less prone to conflict, and try to only engage in conflicts that won't lead to worse outcomes than passivity or surrender. But there are too many conflicts, and the future is obscure so judging all their effects is hopeless. Thankfully we can work together to study ourselves in all aspects, so that together we might chart a course that at least gets us closer to peace and prosperity
