Great reaction IMO this is Westside's best album in terms of his rappin, the features, the production the overall presentation.

Jerry

And then you pray for me would be a perfect album to listen to next it has some of the best WESTSIDE Gunn verses and it will introduce you into stove god cooks who is arguably one of the best rappers alive

Mohammad Moeladawilah

I think it's just Spotify that doesn't have Allah Sent Me. I checked Apple Music and its there

yeah

I think you nailed it from the start. It'd be insane to spend your life commiting felonies, selling drugs, and just surviving then go to fashion week and fine art auctions in Paris surrounded by some of the richest people on earth. Sheer opulence vs grime and darkness

Yesssss Mach is gonna be so interesting to see

a reaction i think would be interesting as well would definitely be robb bank$. don’t really see any reactions to his music really, or ever. last 3 projects was super solid, especially the production on em

Q Emanuel

the whole griselda circle getting reactions would go crazy

Westside is hilariously over the top with it, love this album. Supreme Blientele is well worth checking out some time as well. Also - DJ Premier, 50% of Gang Starr, is the quintessential boom bap producer. Generally regarded as one of (or the) greatest Hip Hop producer(s) of all time, and without a doubt one of the most influential. You should react to Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein or CunninLynguists - A Piece of Strange if you want some more new (to you) music! Also RTJ 4 is getting more and more relevant by the day. Hope you'll be able to get to it in the near future!

The way you felt at the end was a perfect example of what Gunn is trying to do. Mixing the grimiest, hardcore street stuff with the high class art and flashiness. Definitely glad you enjoyed this album, was skeptical if you would like it due to all the flexing and gangster talk. But I’m glad you were able to see what it was supposed to be.

This is why I love Bob.. He has the inclination to figure out what the “burgers on a wednesday” bar is referring to on his first listen, where most people just laugh and vibe.

Sage_Mode_Q

Looks like you had diamonds in the vault Bob! Love this album

jakob

gotta listen to Plugs I Met by Benny the Butcher bob it’s a short and fun listen

jakob

Kobe

JoeyCrack

I swear Bob you just made my day. I been cursing you forever about doing more Griselda and Wu Tang !!! You my bestie again 💪🏾💪🏾😂😂😂

Deen Syed

I just realized you still haven’t heard Stove God Cooks You’re gonna love him He’s another entirely unique and hilarious rapper that you can never predict, it’s crazy

Deen Syed

Allah Sent Me got taken down😔such a shame, that song is so cold

Jack McKee

AHHH THANKS SO MUCH BOB

Deen Syed

Can’t say this enough‼️Bob doing a 1990s style reaction with no lyrics and just his ear would be incredible It’d be cool to see him rewind tracks and try deciphering lyrics And then I have most of the album transcribed to send to him afterwards anyway so he can get the idea for Additional Thoughts

Listening to Westside Gunn, especially on this album, feels like doing a drug deal at the Louvre Gunn is widely known for having some of the best ears in hip hop, good luck trying to find a bad beat on any of his projects, it’ll take a while. He can curate an album like no one else He’s a perfect blend between high art/fashion and drug dealing with a sprinkle of wrestling This Griselda sound scratches an itch for me and while I don’t think he’s the GOAT or anything near it, he’s my most listened to artist. Albums like 10, Hitler Wears Hermes 8 Sides A and B, Flygod is an Awesome God 2, FLYGOD, and Pray for Paris are legitimately excellent compositions and his other 50 releases maintain a very consistent standard that makes me go back to them. It’s crazy

Pray for Haiti soon🙏it’s the Yin to this album’s Yang Mach-Hommy is an extraordinary Haitian rapper who doesn’t let his lyrics get uploaded which will make for an amazing reaction, you’ll have a 1990s-era reaction Mach has been co-signed by the likes of Jay-Z, Mos Def, Black Thought, and others. He’s a gem of an artist and I really don’t think anyone is doing it like him. He mixes lyrical brilliance, flex talk, political messaging, introspection, and Haitian Kreol to make incredible pieces of art. Also, Professor Skye has an incredible video on that album that will bring it all together after you watch it. If Pray for Haiti happens, I will let one child go

StrayRonin

You’ve gotta listen to pray for Haiti next 🙏🏽

So Westside`s whole aesthetic and art is based on combining high art with low art. Sports, wrestling and gangsta lyrics combined with beautiful classical samples and references to artists, architects, painters and many others. It makes for a wonderful contrast of what is considered high/low and art and not art.
