First wave of beta testers: SUCCESS!
🕑 Added 2023-09-08 21:58:11 +0000 UTCIt's been a VERY busy week! But I think we can say in full confidence that we're on a good start. We're already working hard on some of the main things we learned from our first AMAZING (really, we're lucky) group of users.
- There are so many options with AI (self-hosted, models, services) and their cost implications are important. So, we'll do what everyone loves: writing documentation and making tutorials. That should make it easier for the next batch of beta testers and ourselves!
- Cheaper and simple options. Right now the only options for Speech to Text are either very, very expensive (Azure Speech Service) or bad (Vosk). So we're looking at integrating Deepgram and faster_whisper. Those are not the last services we'll add though, making it relevant for both amateurs and people with home labs.
- Bugs! Yep, believe it or not there were bugs. I think we fixed most of them, but I know we'll still find more. Stabilizing the platform is our priority.
Therefore, we're preparing for the next batch of beta users, and I can say we're getting close to that second wave. Also expect some new features and bug fixes in the meantime for people with access. For anyone new expecting to receive a build right away: we are not ready to help thousands of users, so bear with us as we get closer to a full Patreon beta, and reach out to us if you're confused about any of this. Remember, we're not a business, just passionate people who want to build something great so let us know how we can improve <3
