"Weekly" progress log #16

sorry about the lengthy delay since the last progress log. I think I tunnel visioned a bit in my drawing endeavors and, well... a month has come and gone. I am making good progress on the artwork, though - I will not be giving any estimates as to the release yet (not until I can give a deadline that I know 100% I can meet), but I dare say that it is going well (most of the time, at least).
In the last week, I've finished some 3 artworks fully (and started many others) and I've finished remodeling Anasteya's new sprite. It has adjusted proportions to communicate her height better and overall the construction of the sprite in terms of layers makes it much easier to design additional outfits – of which I have one. I consider it fairly finished, but I might do some extra adjustments later on. The pose is a bit stiff - not sure I can fix that too easily, maybe in the future. I don't expect her to wear this outfit too often anyway - but now I have a blueprint for making other outfits without any trouble if I decide to.
Where Anasteya is concerned, I just need to reapply different features on her face and refit her old dress on the new model. Since the sprite is completely different height now, it will require some changes in the code of the game itself – nothing major I suspect, just change the placement of the sprite and it should work fine across the board.
In the future, I want to experiment with different poses for her and other characters as well, though certainly not in this update with the schedule being so tight.
Aside from that, there are many ups and downs with my drawing journey – and honestly, drawing faces gives me the most trouble as it always has. I think it's often because I choose angles that are somewhat difficult to draw, but even more simpler angles present a challenge in making the appearance of characters consistent, which is something that I am still woefully incapable of. But that's something I will need to address with time and practice.
As a final note, I've been saving progress screenshots of some of the artwork (when I remember to, at least), so I will release that probably after the next episode so it doesn't spoil anything – but hopefully it's of interest to someone. That said, I will probably have to make it for patrons only because of nudity.
