GundamChief

That is an idea they mentioned, but as they also mentioned, it has regular trade due to the crops they produce. The world isn't a breadbasket, but it provides enough to be consequential to nearby worlds in the setting. ....and you just gave me the idea of how they're going to do it.

So they will try to low-key remove Novo Franklin from the current star maps? The planet is noticed to be in the ass end of nowhere.

GundamChief

They're panicking, but this is something they think they might be able to accomplish. The MC is willing to play along if that's the case, because in time he can turn people to him, making it moot, and he'll grow too quickly to be controlled the way they want him to be. Of course Novo Franklin is not a lost world, so they have to make something happen...

RoyalTwinFangs

Are they making Novo Franklin into another Hidden World?

Most also forget that in the BT universe they don't choose their leaders for intelligence, those that are smart or clever are rapidly killed by various people. It's pretty much a might makes right universe. Post SL they didnt really have anywhere to scheme and plot or perform court intrigue, also comstar was significantly worse at manipulation than house Cameron.

The amusing thing about house atreides is while they were rather nice to their subjects, they were major arses to thd other nobles, they just were passive aggressive about it. They also were pretty much set to displace the Imperial family, its why tge emperor attempted to kill them all. Add in crack hhag gives superpowers and sword fights, its literally the hardcover version of GOT in space.

Yes, but remember that it requires resources to build those ships in the first place. Can't simply magic them up a the moment. Architect technology is reasonably advanced, though not as much as the Forerunners were. He could do the conqueror route, but the MC, and by extension, me, ain't an asshole. Dune training or not. I'm not just gonna run over people because I can, like a Harkkonen. If there is a house the MC is considered similar to, it's the Atredies, who are lords in Dune, but they aren't total assholes. As for Synths, they aren't people. They're replicants, at best. Now they aren't, they're artificial humans via Biomega, which means they can reproduce and live a full life. Which means they're people now. Synths can be replaced, people cannot. That emotional view extends to Breeze, as he's a person, not a machine. I wouldn't treat it like something you mass produce to make life easier, and the MC wouldn't either despite everything he now has. The MC/I would rather Breeze reproduce for the sake of not being the only Huragok, than make one just to make work easier. If they treated it as if it were a commodity instead of a person, it would show how disconnected the character is to being a human being.

At this point he should ignore everything there and go over to the alien ships so he can decipher everything as he alone can understand the alien tech completely. Once he does so he could easily build up a massive fleet in the course of a few days and then Battletech is more or less over. As he could conquer the nations there in a year. Just the Subnautica tech already puts him above them so far it's a waste of time for him to play games with the little lords or Comstar there. They had far better FTL tech, communications tech and fabrication tech. If he really gained a Dune style lord's upbringing he wouldn't waste any time on them. He'd build up his fleet in the course of a few days and just conquer everyone. Lords in Dune weren't the type to play intrigue with inferiors. They simply conquered them. Not to mention he didn't have a problem creating a massive amount of Synths, so it's odd he shot down making more Huragok. If he had no problems creating an entire race of Snyth people, turning down making more Huragok is just dumb. That's something no Lord in Dune would do.

anthony corcoran

yeah battletech was forced to use certain narratives because it was a wargame. There is literally nothing stopping subnautica from expanding into the deep periphry or further, the sphere was limited as their FTL wasnt ever really improved to be able to do it.
