"Sweetheart… Hey, baby girl? Time to wake up…"
Lily stirred sleepily, the sound of Adam's gentle voice twining its way into her drowsy brain. Mor… morning? Already? But- but she wanted to sleep longer. Surely a couple more minutes wouldn't hurt, right?
But then she felt a whisper of cool air over her pajama-clad legs. The gentle probing of strong fingers slipping across her thighs. And then, the strangest sensation of a thick, cool softness pressing against her princess parts – once, and then again, and again…
"Huhhmm?" She heard herself murmuring, cracking one eye open in time to catch Adam straightening up beside her. "Whaa-? But- but it's not morning yet-" She writhed once more, the past months of cute behavior encouraging her to voice such silly protests. "But I don't wanna! You can't make me-"
And then, her sleepy brain connected the dots at last. Last night. Spooning in bed. Adam and his warm hugs. Her tears. The- awful embarrassment that had caused them- Oh god, Zane's strange expression! The- the accident! And the- the-
"I know, baby," Adam was saying, as the sudden tsunami of memories and shameful realization broke over her. "But you see, it really is morning! And we need to get you all cleaned up, okay? All cleaned up and ready for breakfast… and work…"
She sat up suddenly, fumbling for the covers. "Oh- oh no," she faltered, half fearing what she might find beneath their concealing embrace. Had the- the diaper of last night – had it all been nothing more than a horrible dream? But no. For there between her legs, swelling prominently beneath those soft cotton pajama pants, was something suspiciously thick. Something rustling. Something that no pair of panties could ever imitate.
"Don't worry, Adam consoled in his warm, steady voice – and she shivered as she gazed down in a sudden rush of shame at her bulgy crotch. "See, honey? Looks like the bed stayed dry last night! That's great, isn't it?" "I- but," she began, slipping forward and scrambling awkwardly off the bed, tugging gingerly at her pajama pants and slipping them down to reveal the thickened – and visibly discolored – bulk beneath. "But- but this isn't dry! Oh, no – I'm so sorry! I- I wet again, Adam-"
"And the protection did exactly what it was supposed to," he cut in, his kind voice warm with sympathy as he bent over the recently vacated bed. "See, honey? Only a tiny little spot here! That's so much better, isn't it? Thank goodness the doctor suggested these, or the bed and your PJ's would be all wet again…" His voice lapsed into a sweet, playful register in what both knew was an attempt to lighten the mood. "And that wouldn't have been fun at all, now, would it?"
"No-oo," she grudgingly agreed, trying and failing to feel anger at his words. "I- I guess not…" And now his arms were around her, the strong scent of his aftershave filling her nose and his freshly shaven face warm against her flushed cheek. "See, baby? It's all okay, I promise. I know it's feels all scary and stressful, sure. But remember – I don't mind one bit, sweetheart. It's just a simple little problem, and we have a way to deal with it. It's just because of stress, you know – so the more you stress and feel bad about it, the worse it will get, okay? So no more worries, baby. No more stressy-stress…"
Despite herself, she found herself sagging forward, relaxing into his embrace… and then her arms were pulling him closer still as she hugged in back in mute gratitude. Sure, at times it was tempting to feel like some wayward, silly little toddler too embarrassingly babyish to keep her panties dry. But all the same, Adam was so… so perfect. So kind to her. So sweet and strong and gentle. She- she didn't deserve him…
"I just need you to do one little thing for me, okay?" Adam was pulling back now, gently gazing down at her with a warm smile. "I want you to be a good girl and go take a shower for me, okay? Get all cleaned up and dressed – it'll make you feel all better, I promise. And by the time you're done, I'll have breakfast all ready for us…"
Of course Lily sheepishly nodded. And trotted obediently off to the shower, her wet diaper rustling between her thighs with every step.
Not that her new-found optimism wasn't dampened somewhat by the embarrassment of pulling down a heavy, soaked adult diaper. Nor did the time by herself in the shower help. For she simply couldn't ignore the fact that this was now the fourth morning – the second in a row – that she'd soaked herself during the night. Sure, Adam was a darling about it. And sure, they both had fun when she acted all cutesy sometimes – even a bit juvenile. But she was an adult woman, and this was serious, and wet beds weren't cute. She was supposed to be the sexy, mature woman Adam deserved and surely dreamed about. So how the heck was she – a confirmed pottypants and bedwetter who needed to wear a freaking diaper to bed – supposed to please him now?
And scarier still, what was to prevent her from peeing herself today as well? At work?
Her brow was knit in anxious musing as she stepped from the shower and wrapped the fluffy pink towel around her. Maybe she could…? No, no – people would notice! But then again, they'd notice for sure if she ended up with soaked pants and pee dripping down her legs. Surely… weird as it might be to think about, a quietly crinkling bum would actually be the lesser of two evils?
But even if she did… well, she simply couldn't tell Adam. It was bad enough to need a diaper at night. Surely if he knew she was planning on wearing one to work out of fear of wetting herself… well, of course he would be sweet about it. But it would be yet another blow against her dignity, and further crush any hope she might still have for him to find her sexy, mature, and alluring…
And so, the towel-clad Lily darted out and fled into the closet, her shaking hands reaching down into the rustling depths of the bag Zane had brought in just last night. Don't think about it. Don't obsess. Just pull one out… open it up, quick… step in and pull it up just like underwear… quick, before Adam comes in…
Then there she stood: sweet, naked Lily, shivering and blushing in her second diaper in fifteen minutes. Praying fervently, as she hastily tugged her concealing tights into place over it, that this one would stay more dry than the last one had.
***
Dammit, why did people have to be such idiots? And why did work have to suck so much life from her?
Lily felt her shoulders sag with weariness as she stepped out of her little car and began making her way toward the house. It was Friday – the last day of the week, but somehow also the toughest. Adam had had to work from home today, which meant she had to handle the horrific Friday traffic herself instead of riding with him to their shared workplace. Sure, his mixture of sweet and joking texts had kept her company through the day – but they were no replacement for his hugs. Nor, for that matter, could they entirely eradicate the knot of stress in her tummy, or the tightness in her shoulders…
Or even the soft, damp swell between her legs.
It had been a week now since that first day when she'd blushingly trotted into the office, her ears thundering with what to her had seemed like the cacophonous thunder of her pull-on adult diaper. Yet, much to her relief, no one had said anything, or even noticed – at least, as far as she could tell. And the relief it had given her was so great, and the sense of security against any mortifying accidents so profound, that since then not a single day had gone by without her stealthily tugging one on before work… then heading to the bathroom immediately on her return, there to replace her blush-inducing underwear, tugging it back off and stuffing it hurriedly into the depths of a bathroom drawer…
At least, if it was still dry. Which, truth be told, hadn't happened since Tuesday.
Adam couldn't know, she mused as she turned the knob and entered. He simply couldn't. Especially given how consistently she'd been soaking herself every night this week, waking up to his gently probing pats and sweetly concerned smile. Sure, he was still showing her all the love and manly affection he always had. Why, just two nights ago they'd finished a bottle of wine between them and then swayed their way back to the bedroom, where he'd stripped her and set to work covering her naked body with kisses. Oh, how she'd moaned and begged him to fill her up – and how he'd obliged – and how she'd thrilled with every "good girl" and slap of his strong hand on her naked ass…
But that was just one short evening. No way on earth it could outweigh the experience Adam now had every day: not simply of waking her up by verifying the wet status her diaper each morning, but of asking her whether she'd put it on after her bath, and – since Tuesday, of actually guiding her to the bed and laying one of her pink bath towels beneath her, pulling it up and around her diapered bum to pin it snugly in place. "Don't want even a tiny leak," he'd smiled that first night, deftly slipping home, one by one, the astonishingly large pink safety pins he said he'd found online. "It's just an extra layer, just in case. And look, your pajama pants even fit over it! Just barely, but they do…"
Lily gulped and blinked back to the present, suddenly aware of a dribbling warmth between her legs. No, not again! But yes, she could feel it already, that wet little tinkle joining the half-dozen other little accidents she'd unwittingly had throughout the day. It's just stress, simply stress, she told herself furiously, as Adam's sedate steps and warm voice approached. Just give him a hug, and go to the bathroom, and change into your panties…
Hah. As if you'll be able to keep them dry!
At that final, taunting jibe from the voice in her head, Lily's face crumpled into tears. "Aww, honey! What's wrong?" Adam was hurrying forward, his arms seizing her in a strong, comforting embrace. "Bad day at work? Oh, sweetheart…" His hand was in her hair, his rough cheek against hers, and still the salty tears flowed. "I- I- I'm sorry…" she faltered, not even knowing quite what she was sorry about. For being a nuisance. For wetting her pants. For worrying Adam. For being so stupid and silly and immature…
"Shh…" His strong voice cut through her dark spiral of fragmentary thoughts. "Honey, it's okay. I'm here. You're home now, okay? Everything's gonna be okay…" And then, as her muffled sobs increased, his arms around her tightened. "Here, I know! Come on, honey – I know the perfect cure for a bad day. Come with me, baby…"
Obediently she followed, hiccuping along the way. Back the hall. Into the bathroom. Exactly where she'd been planning on going – but by herself. "Here, let's get you a nice warm bath," he murmured kindly, and already his hands were unzipping her dress and thrusting her back to the toilet seat. "Let me help you undress, baby-"
He- he was going to uncover her diaper. And worse still, find out it was wet.
"No- no, I can do it myself," she spluttered through her snot-nosed tears – but Adam just laid a firm hand on her protesting mouth. "Shh, baby, it's okay. Just relax and let me take care of everything…" She shuddered, whimpered… but finally nodded, resigning herself to her fate. She didn't have the strength to fight. And besides, getting found out as a pathetic little pissy-pants was probably exactly what she deserved.
"Oh-! Oh, my. Here, let's get you out of that…"
He wasn't even… mad? As the realization struck her, the words burst from her trembling lips in an apologetic torrent. "I- I'm sorry! I had to wear one. I've been wearing one. Every day this week. Just- just because. I- I was scared I'd- you know, make a mess…"
"Shh…" Adam's voice vibrated strong and reassuring in her ear as he tugged her upward and easily ripped the discolored pull-up free from her waist. "Shh, it's okay, baby. Accidents happen, you know. Even at work, I guess…"
Even at work. As her naked body settled into the bubbly warm water, she gulped back a fresh wave of sobs to gaze pleadingly up at her dear partner. "I- I'm sorry. I- I didn't want you to know. I didn't want you to worry…" But Adam was already bending down and silencing her with a warm kiss on the lips. "Shh, baby," he breathed once more, and in his eyes she read only strong and sure compassion. "It's. O. Kay. I promise. I get it, baby. I really do…"
And so she nodded. And gulped. And let Adam take care of everything else while the next half-hour unfolded in steamy, watery security. For here she was safe. Here no one could see. Here, no one could ever know or even guess her little problem. Because after all, nobody could tell if she piddled a bit in her bath, could they?
"I actually have two surprises for you when you get out," Adam finally told her with a smile, once she'd had a chance to calm down somewhat. "Now, I don't quite know about the first anymore – I still think it's for the best, of course, but I just hope you don't mind it. As for the second… I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it."
"O-okay?" She ventured, with a gaze down over her naked body beneath the water, visible now that the concealing bubbles had all disappeared. "Can you… help me get out? I wanna see. An' the water's getting cold…" All that was cute enough, right? And she did want to see, after all…
"Now, I got these before you came home, you know," he began as he guided his still-dripping charge, now wrapped securely in her pink towel, out to the bedroom. "They weren't meant as anything more than something to make your nights nicer and more comfortable, okay? But you see, they're going to be a lot more comfy than adding a big 'ol towel. I bet you might even be able to put them on yourself if you really want. And look – they're pink!"
Oh, god. It was a fresh, surprisingly large pack of adult diapers. With MegaMax printed on the side. And a row of cotton-candy pink squares lined up within.
"I- I-" she stuttered, as a wave of bewildering emotions swept over her. Shame, of course – at the reminder of her need for nighttime diapers. Gratitude to Adam for being so sweet and kind. Trepidation about how on earth they would look on her. And yes, even a bit of shy admiration for that pretty pink color. God, was she- was she really going to wear… something like that?
She was. For shivering, tongue-tied, and worn out as she was, she made no objection when Adam guided her toward the bed and helped her to lay down tamely upon her towel. Nor could she do anything more than gaze down and shiver as he guided the massive pink starfish of a garment beneath her, then tugged it firmly into place and set about taping it securely around her waist.
"See? Super nice and soft," he encouraged, helping her sit up with cheeks as pink as the diaper now swelling between her legs. "And all ready for bed later tonight. But hang on, baby – we almost forgot the second surprise!"
Into the dresser his hand dove. And out it came, bearing with it something that she'd long since forgotten she even remembered. Bubby: his tattered grey coat the same as ever, his perky ears sagging from an abundance of love, his shiny blue-and-black eyes gleaming in the friendly way they had so many years before.
"Bubby!" burst from her lips, her clutching arms enfolding him and snuggling him close to her naked chest. Perhaps Bubby wasn't used to the modest little curves that now swelled there, but that didn't matter. He was her Bubby, and Adam had found him, and right now that made Adam the very best and most incredible boyfriend there ever was.
"Fank you," she lisped up at Adam, as his strong arms tugged close once more and she squirmed, crinkling and blushing with every movement, into his lap. The lisp may have been affected, but the gratitude it conveyed was most certainly not. "Fank you for Bubby. I wuv you. I wuv you. I wuv-"
"Shh," Adam beamed gently, and as his thumb slipped softly between her lips, she let her eyes sink closed for a moment and allowed the strange urge to suckle it lead her on. "Good girl. No more stressy-stress. Just relax now. Just let me take care of everything…"
And so she did. No longer caring – at least in this moment – about just how far from a mature adult she now appeared. Caring only that she was with Adam, and safe, and protected. In… well, in more ways than one.

So much cuteness in this story. Ty PLP for writing it and also to the one who commissioned it. Great work and I hope to read more soon.
