Use the big "Join" button, not the "Or, continue with in-app payment >", update the app if you only see the big join button.
Apple withholds your pledge for TWO AND A HALF MONTHS(75 days), if you "continue with in-app payment" before it's available to creators. They're also charging 30% extra for themselves. I'm seeing people get charged $8 for the $5 tier and it just sits in Apple's bank accounts collecting interest until they finally release it from their greedy fucking claws. Not just the 30%, THE WHOLE PLEDGE.
Patreon recently updated the app to pull up an external payment webpage if you tap the big Join button, so if you don't see the in-app payment option, you may need to update the app.
It's an ongoing court battle to even have a link/redirect to an external payment allowed on iOS apps.
