Happy holidays! I hope everyone is getting some much-needed rest and enjoying the season.
This illustration was a little challenging but also really fun to work on. I tried to fit everyone in. Akira and Ayaka are there too, just not in the frame. Reon is included because Satsujin is basically trying to win him back, and he hasn’t spent Christmas with the Tanaka family in a long time. Satsujin is also wearing Reon’s jacket, which is why it barely fits him, but honestly it still looks good on him.
Himari has always spent Christmas with them, and recently Ashanti has started joining as well. The two kids by the tree are Shufen, the one with black hair, and Hebi’s daughter. Shufen is the older one. He usually spends Christmas with them in Tokyo, while his mother stays in Osaka.
Eiko is there too, though she tends to tune everyone out and shop online once she’s done eating.
If I have enough time, I might release a short story for patrons based on this illustration. I think it would be fun to show how everyone interacts during the holidays. And yes, believe it or not, Hiro is the one who made all the food.

And the way I spoke about seeing the sibling during Christmas on the last post 😂😂. Merry Christmas and happy holidays. This is lovely and despite everything you know canon wise with the known abuse and Job choice it’s somewhat nice to see a normal family gathering. Still sad that shoto not here but nice to know he’s where he feel wanted and safe.

I typically don’t comment because I have bad social anxiety and overthink often but I wanted to say, I really like the vibe in this illustration. You can really feel that everyone is comfortable and having a good time and it really contrasts with their traumatic childhood and the dangerous job/life they have. I think it’s amazing they can still make memories like this 🥹 Are Yaseiji’s kids here too but not in frame?
