Chapter 73
🕑 Added 2023-10-21 13:40:24 +0000 UTCSeeing the Kiri shinobi gave Kakashi a headache.
First, an ordinary C-Rank mission advanced to a B-Rank, and now even worse... completely beyond the Jounin's expectations.
Although they have nothing to do with the murder of Yoshiro Kinoshita, they were present at the crime scene, not to mention the fact that the real killer is also from Konoha.
Kakashi would even have thought that this was a secret plot if he had not received the mission directly from the Third Hokage, and the reward for Yoshiro Kinoshita had not been announced even earlier.
Too many random coincidences!
Naruto and Sasuke's gazes lingered on Haku next to Ameyuri.
“More beautiful than Sakura...” Uzumaki’s mouth gaped.
The veins on Sakura's forehead stood out from what she heard.
She would have already snitched on the blond from the bottom of her heart if they weren’t in public!
– Konoha shinobi, the leader of our team is already aware of your affairs with Gato. We have come to tell you that we have solved this problem, and you no longer need to worry about either Gato or Zabuza...” Ameyuri stated calmly, not taking her eyes off the Jounin opposite.
– Have you solved the problem?! – Sakura was taken aback by what she heard.
Kakashi was also taken aback at first, and then remembered the conversations that went on between the residents of the Land of Waves. Now everything is clear... it’s clear why Zabuza and Gato still didn’t show up!
After these words, the Swordsman of the Mist turned around and was about to go home, not caring at all about the reaction of the Konoha shinobi.
“Ameyuri, listen, wasn’t it for this person that our village recently announced a huge reward?” – out of the blue asked Haku.
Hearing this, the Swordsman of the Mist turned back and looked at Yoshiro's body next to the Konoha shinobi with a puzzled look.
– Head of the Kinoshita Clan! – the girl’s face changed sharply, fixing an aggressive gaze on Kakashi and his Genin.
Haku also showed his readiness to join the battle, but unlike Ameyuri, a slight panic was visible in his actions.
Seeing this, Kakashi sighed helplessly.
He realized where this was going only when he saw the Kirigakure shinobi.
“We can give an explanation...” he said carefully.
Give an explanation?
Ameyuri slightly bent her knees with a wry grin, obviously not wanting to listen to anything.
But when the tension reached an incredible intensity, a young man appeared between Ameyuri and Haku.
“Well... I would like to listen to your explanations...” Yudao said carefree, patting Ameyuri and Haku on the tops of their heads soothingly.
In fact, he did not intend to go on stage so early, but he did not take into account Ameyuri's belligerence and Haku's kind-heartedness. He had to leave early, otherwise Hatake might smell something was wrong.
“You?..” Kakashi slowly squeezed out, a chill running down his spine from the sudden appearance of this young man.
The instinct of a seasoned shinobi, who had gone through many battles, told him that this young man was dangerous, extremely dangerous.
“I am their leading Jounin,” Yudao answered lightheartedly and cast a gaze at Yoshiro’s lifeless body nearby.
Excellent work, Clan Chief Kinoshita!
“About what happened...” Kakashi carefully selected his words, he must resolve the issue correctly so that everything does not escalate into a war.
Konoha was not afraid of the decadent Kiri, but the other Great Shinobi Villages would also not stand by when war broke out between them.
“Just tell me, did you kill him?” – unfortunately, Yudao abruptly interrupted Kakashi mid-sentence, not intending to listen to any nonsense.
The face of the experienced Jounin trembled under the mask from this unusually authoritative and firm, but at the same time calm voice.
Since when did Kiri communicate so boldly with Konoha?
- No! – he answered coldly with the firm intention of denying it to the last, until irrefutable evidence appears.
Naruto, who was standing next to him, was confused by his sensei's statement and was about to open his mouth, about to say something, but just at that moment Sakura nervously tugged at his clothes.
And in the end, the Uzumaki swallowed the words with complex emotions on his face.
Sasuke, standing to the side, did not change much in his face, but disappointment was clearly visible in his gaze.
From what he heard, Yudao raised his eyebrows with a smile; he was not at all surprised by Kakashi’s complete denial.
In some matters you need to push to the last!
- Really? Ame...” he then looked at Ameyuri.
And the very next moment, the Swordsman of the Mist, pushing off the ground with her feet, rushed towards Kakashi with the Thunder Swords in her hands.
But at that moment, Sasuke hurriedly jumped out from behind the Jounin and rushed towards Ameyuri with steel kunai in his hands.
And Kakashi himself sighed helplessly from the realization of the inevitability of the battle with the Kiri shinobi.
Flexing one's muscles has long been the most common and effective way to reach consensus in the shinobi community.
“I’m not old enough yet, little one!” – Ameyuri grinned with all her pointed teeth, seeing Sasuke on her way.
“Don’t think that I will be lenient towards a woman, and you are several years older than me!” – Sasuke grinned in response and the very next moment he threw a kunai towards his opponent.
Phew! Phew!
These kunai were aimed exactly at the target's heart and neck, and at angles that were as inconvenient as possible for blocking.
At the same time, Sasuke quickly accelerated and in just a couple of steps appeared next to Ameyuri, following the thrown kunai.
In response to this, the Swordsman of the Mist, with a predatory smile on her face and dancing arcs of lightning on her blade, casually waved her left hand towards the Uchiha.
After which, the steel kunai aimed at Ameyuri's neck and heart, as if by the wave of the shining Thunder Sword, suddenly changed their flight angle towards Sasuke, under the influence of the current.
Taken aback by this, the Uchiha immediately stepped back, simultaneously making hand seals!
Bang!
But at that very moment, Ameyuri appeared in front of him and interrupted the series of hand seals with a powerful kick to the chest, and then immediately grabbed the black hair and brutally lowered the Uchiha from heaven to earth.
– These are the vaunted shinobi of Konoha? – the Swordswoman of the Mist asked in disappointment, placing her foot on the head of the lying Sasuke.
WHAT?!
Naruto and Sakura's eyes widened in shock and they stared blankly at this kunoichi from Kiri. They knew very well how strong Sasuke was, and they never expected instant defeat, no chance at all!
