Chapter 14
🕑 Added 2023-10-21 16:08:00 +0000 UTCEntering the living room, he found Aya lying on the sofa, reading another book. He was so touched by the sight of a gentle girl, in a robe over her naked body, reading children's fairy tales, that he could not resist leaning over and kissed her on the lips.
- Oh, Kenshin, hi. Are you done with your work? – Licking her lips after the kiss, Aya asked.
- Not yet, there is still one thing left. Rest, in your position you need to rest more... - Kenshin extended and stroked her cute, but not so flat stomach.
"Uh-huh…" Aya purred, enjoying the affection and care of her man.
Kenshin headed to the kitchen, and the girl returned to reading. In the kitchen, the young man spent about half an hour fiddling with the "cooling" formations in the refrigerator. He was not immediately able to establish a completely different formation from those he had done previously, but after half an hour the temperature in the refrigerator was set at five degrees Celsius, and in the freezer minus ten degrees Celsius.
- Aya, girl, come here. – Kenshin shouted from the kitchen.
- M? What's happened? – the girl asked interestedly.
- Look. This is a refrigerator. Reach out your hand, can you feel it?
- Um, cool... Why is this thing?
- Then, so that the products are stored longer, or are cold. For example, cold water on a hot summer day... Now look here, this is a freezer, and it is much colder. Here food can be kept frozen for a very long time! – Kenshin said proudly, pleased with the fruits of his labors.
"Brrr, it's really cold..." The girl shivered and pulled her hand out of the freezer.
- Okay, honey, just don't forget to close the refrigerator door so that all the cold doesn't disappear. – Kenshin said in a teaching tone, kissed the girl on the back of the head, and headed out.
It was five in the evening, and Kenshin decided to start drawing a huge formation to distract people who had wandered into his territory. The young man climbed higher on the mountain and examined his "possessions," estimating in his mind the approximate scale of the formation.
Then he went down the mountain and walked to the right. Having walked about five kilometers, the young man decided that this was enough, and mentally shuddered from the enormous amount of work ahead.
"Damn, why is there no way of reducing formations among the knowledge available to me…" Kenshin muttered under his breath, walking along the intended territory, leaving a noticeable mark in the ground with a large sharpened stick. He didn't worry that by the time he finished the last line, the first one would be broken. The drawn line of the formation was superimposed on the terrain in its infancy, and retained its properties for seven days.
The young man knew that more advanced drawing methods were available to formation masters, allowing them to establish the main nodes, and the remaining lines would "grow" on their own. Kenshin guessed that this knowledge would become available at the third level of the Formation Creation skill.
Having walked about 500 meters with a sharpened stick, and spending about an hour on this, Kenshin left a mark at the place where he stopped and headed towards the installed snares.
Having checked three snares out of ten, the young man found nothing, and was already in despair, but in the fourth, a large, eared hare was firmly caught. Kenshin jumped up to him with enthusiasm, and found that he was still alive, and was caught in the snare with his hind legs.
Seeing the man, the hare shuddered and tried to run away in a random direction out of horror, but it didn't work out. As Kenshin came closer, the hare squealed and looked at him with its big red eyes.
- Eh, sorry, oblique, but we need to eat something. This is how life works... - The young man sighed and grabbed the hare by the ears, freeing him from the snare, then threw him into a bag reinforced by the formation.
Kenshin then went to the rest of the snares, and found another live and one strangled hare. Throwing them into one pile, the young man adjusted the snares, checked the established formations, and went home.
The formations that helped catch the hare were built on a fairly simple principle, and acted on rather stupid animals, influencing their minds and forcing them to go into a trap. This was one of two formations available to the young man that influenced consciousness. The second was a formation that he drew on a five-kilometer perimeter, and it influenced the minds of people, forcing random travelers to take a different path. But it had no effect on people who were determined to get into the formation's coverage area.
"I wonder at what level of ability the formation of a thousand faces will become available to me..." Kenshin thought with anticipation.
The Thousand Faces Formation was so named because of the hundreds of different ghosts with terrible faces encountered by a person caught in the formation. And although this formation was not of an attacking nature, being in the area of the formation greatly undermined a person's mental health, and the weaker his will, the greater the damage, even to the point of loss of reason and painful death.

Before reaching the house, the young man threw the bag with the hares, stretched a rope between two young trees, tied it tightly, and with a sigh took the dead hare out of the bag. He didn't know if a strangled animal could be eaten, but he figured that if it was "fresh" enough to bleed out, then he'd be fine.
The young man hung the hare upside down, winced, and in one motion cut its throat. Fresh blood poured onto the ground, and the hares in the bag, as if sensing the fate prepared for them, tried to escape in horror and squealed wildly.
Kenshin pulled out one of the living hares, lifted him by the ears, looked into his eyes, and gently stroked his soft fur, then in one motion he broke his neck and hung him on a rope, cutting his throat.
The young man decided not to call Aya ahead of time, considering that she should not see the cute animals alive. Having done the same procedure with the third hare, the young man went home.
- Do you know how to butcher hares? – Kenshin asked, finding the girl in the living room.
- Zaitsev? Well... Grandpa once had rabbits, and I saw how they were gutted. And what?
- Get dressed and follow me. I caught three birds with one stone. There is an hour left before dark, we need to have time to skin them. - The young man said and sat down on the sofa.
- Wow, did you catch the hares so quickly? Okay, I'll get dressed now! – The blue-eyed beauty stated, throwing off her robe and walking towards the bedroom, elegantly swaying her hips, making Kenshin moan.
"Aren't you afraid to tease your hungry husband like that?" I might not be able to restrain myself, and you'll be limping all week... - He said after her, admiring the graceful swaying of her elastic ass.
"Oh, you just promise..." Aya shouted to him flirtatiously from the bedroom.
- Every day it becomes more and more cunning, a real fox! All that remains is to wait until nine tails grow... - Kenshin muttered with a smile, noticing how much he fell in love with this girl in such a short time.
Having dressed, Aya returned to the living room and notified him that she was ready. Then, grabbing the necessary things, they left the house and headed towards the hanging hares.
- Good bunnies. – Aya praised, to the young man's surprise, without showing any disgust, she began to examine them more carefully. Kenshin decided that living in the village meant that the girl had no illusions about how life worked.
Then the girl, without removing the hare from the rope, made several cuts on the skin, and literally in five minutes she removed the skin from it. Meanwhile, the young man carefully observed and remembered.
- Have I already said that you are real gold to me? – Kenshin said with a smile and kissed the girl on the neck.
- Mm, I did, but I could say it more often!
Half an hour later, all three hares were skinned, and Kenshin brought two buckets of water from home to wash away the traces of blood.
Aya, meanwhile, returned home and began dividing the carcasses into several parts, and then placed them in the refrigerator.
An hour later, Kenshin and Aya were lying in bed, getting ready for bed. The young man stroked the girl's already visible belly and thought about the fact that he would soon become a father. And although future children, according to the "order" of the system, were supposed to be something like bargaining chips, Kenshin did not like this situation at all, and he did not want his children to suffer.
"On the other hand, they all have to become shinobi, and war is their element..." The young man thought, took a deep breath, hugged the fragile girl, and inhaling her delicate aroma, fell into sleep.
