Quick update on EliteMobs & stuff
🕑 Added 2022-03-13 23:52:28 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
The last couple of weeks have not been easy. Before going any further, this is to tell you the hard part is over. More about this at the end of this post (you can also skip to the bottom to read about what’s coming this month).
To list everything here that went wrong for me in detail would just feel like complaining, and that does not feel right, especially not with how directly affected some friends of mine have been affected with the war going on in Ukraine right now.
The short version of it is a lot of time was spent working on important documentation for my business, negotiating some deals, chasing after amazon support after they keep sending me broken goods and due to a mix of the construction work going on downstairs and my upstairs neighbors, I've been sleeping about 3-4 hours per night. This has gotten bad enough that I am now officially starting to sell my current apartment and buy a house.
Still, I worked on EliteMobs as much as I could during that period. Bepis got a new job (a good one at that!) and he has also been stuck in training + classes + work, but despite that you may have seen us working on Primis over the past few streams, so we're still marching on. Primis is looking great, and I can't wait until I can release it for everyone to enjoy it.
Work on the Bedrock compatibility is now done, and the pillars for instanced content are being built so we can finally add the Arenas. I hope to be able to provide you with a prototype build for arenas over the coming days, even if it's just a basic one.
This is also the month when I decided to start diversifying my programming activities, which turned out to be bad timing in terms of time management, but it still had to be done at some point.
To this end, one of the streams was for developing my first Unity game called Food or Feed. I will be posting the stream highlights video later today. I put a large amount of effort into trying to make the video interesting, and this marks a departure towards me trying to take YouTube video creation a bit more seriously. I will delve deeper into this on the video with the post.
Alright, enough about what happened the past few days.
What’s happening this month?
1. As mentioned, I am releasing the first stream highlights video for my Unity game Food or Feed. There’s a decent chance it is already out when you read this.
2. Primis chapter 2 will be releasing this month. Chapter 2 will release with quite a bit of content to go through (it will more than double the content from chapter 1!), though we will be open to feedback on the content itself so please do not consider everything to be set in stone once it’s out. As an example, we will be completely redoing the first little village to something much more interesting based on feedback up until now.
3. A poll will start where you can submit things for the theme of the next Patreon direction poll. After 24-48h, the poll will open to votes for what should be the next focus of development, and it will run until the end of the month.
4. A bunch of new premium events will be coming out, a lot of which are already ready for release.
5. The first Arenas update will be publicly released this month. It will not contain every feature that I want to add to it, but it should be 100% functional and at the very least mostly bug-free.
I do have some requests this time around if anyone is able and willing to fulfil them:
a) Give me feedback on the video I am about to publish. It is something I am intending to pour a lot of time and effort into as a series, and I am taking feedback very seriously.
b) If you have or know a building team you have worked with which is capable of building for EliteMobs and which you recommend, please let me know. We need more builders!
c) This is a weird one but keep it real when talking to me. I feel like I lost my temper a few times with all the stress recently, and if you see me going over the line or getting too full of myself, let me know that I am doing that. I don’t want to start slipping, as I know plenty of people who have and are incapable of going back.
There are other things I want to do this month, but I don’t feel comfortable promising that they will get done in time – so who knows, maybe there’ll be some surprises!
