EliteMobs 7.3.17 release & quick blogpost
🕑 Added 2022-07-01 14:58:09 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
EliteMobs 7.3.17 is now out on spigot with the following changelog:
- [New] Added an option to /em setup that allows admins to instantly start using the EliteMobs resource pack! This handles distribution, checking for updates and everything else, all you need to do is enable the first option and restart the server!
- [New] Added the defaults required to get the new Treasure Goblin custom models to work! They are adorable!
- [Fix] Lots of fixes, check github changelogs for the full list
The very big new feature is clearly the new /em setup option which allows you to instantly use the recommended EliteMobs resource pack on your server. This is recommended if you want to use the EliteMobs models and are not using any other resource packs. Servers already using resource packs will still have to merge the resource packs.
Hopefully this will encourage people to use the models more often as it no longer requires admins to generate the resource pack nor does it require them to host it - I host it for you, and the code makes sure that your pack stays up-to-date.
You will also have noticed that BetterStructures is out, as are two build packs for it. I think it's really starting to shape up and am very much looking forward to breathing even more life into it over the next few updates.
Finally I want to leave with a quick note on Primis. We were working on it when we finally realized that Minecraft is bugged in an unexpected way - we can't transfer maps placed in the world correctly no matter what we do. This is actually a pretty big issue as the entire teleport system for Primis was meant to be built around a map room which effectively can never work due to Minecraft limitations.
We are working to completely redo it without maps. This has pushed the delivery of the next Primis chapter back very slightly, but as you can see we are working hard on everything. We still expect to get most of the work remaining for Primis done this weekend.
I am about to push a very minor update to Primis just to make sure that the models work with the new configuration system. This will only update the models and nothing else - the map update will happen at some point next week.
I apologize if this causes some confusion, but I didn't want to keep delaying the EliteMobs release for it, and I think a lot of people will see the value in being able to use the models with a single click on the setup menu.
That's everything for now, keep your eyes peeled for the next update!
