Update Explanations
🕑 Added 2022-02-26 00:10:45 +0000 UTCFirst off - thank you. For a first-time dev releasing a v0.1, this kind of support was beyond any reasonable expectation. So thank you. All the compliments, reviews, discussion of the game, (and the money) is like electricity getting pumped directly into my creative batteries, as they were.
Now we're looking at the future. What can you expect in the next update - and indeed, what is the template for updates? What's the plan - is there a plan? Is Mori just flying by the seat of his oversized clown pants? Yes to all. I'm figuring this out as we go.
What's in an update?
Short answer: probably a bit less than the overall initial v0.1 release. If you're coming from months later, that frame of reference won't exist.
Long answer: here we go.
At bare minimum, one Patreon poll-decided story advancement. This can either be a new location+characters or the extension of an existing route. I keep saying the core of this game will be new self-contained stories, sheer variety, and it will be - but man, some of you might've grown attached to some of these characters in the v0.1. I know I have. Darn.
Updates will also ideally include a single shorter self-contained story that I want to make - or something bigger. Point is, mix of things patreons vote on + stuff that isn't on the polls. Patreon poll stuff takes priority, of course. There will always be some kind of h-scene (that's what you call it, right?) in every update - no support for blueballing here.
There will also be minor tweaks and additions to existing content. Horrible vocabulary will be fixed and more Facet interactions + interjections will continually added to make the game more lively, more fleshed out. I'll always be doing this. Noblesse needs help, bros.
An important note: You can massively influence the events and characters in-development in the #suggestions chat on discord. We have already had some wild lore nerd-outs just three days after release. I won't wildly change the tone of the story - that's part of what you're here for, right? But everything else is on the table. It really is. The very first patreon poll already has a fan-created option - created and inspired and discussed between us. It will be posted immediately after this.
Which brings us to...
A Word On Polls
Some polls will have long, slightly 'spoiler-ish' descriptions. Others will be short and vague. I'll try and find the right mix. Anything on a poll is something I'm willing to make - and indeed, something I'm probably eager to make. So if something doesn't win the poll, it is planned to be made later. Either as a recurring character on future polls, or one of those "not decided by patreon things" I want to add to a future update. So many ideas, so difficult to actually make them a reality!
Finally:
The Next Update
The plan is to finish it by the 24th or 25th of next month, March 2022. Public release will come a week later.

Thank you for your time. I hope this wasn't terribly boring - I just drone on and on sometimes, the words just don't stop flowing! Kind of like my writing. Godspeed.
