Reev-R - New Plugin Alarm
🕑 Added 2025-06-11 15:27:24 +0000 UTCI just checked out Reev-R, a free and open source convolution reverb plugin from the same developer who made Gate 12, Time 12, and Filter. You can grab it for Linux, Mac, and Windows, or even build it yourself from the source code on GitHub. Reev-R lets you shape the envelope, adjust the mix, and control how much signal goes into the reverb, which is really handy for creative sound design. There’s a default impulse response included, but you can load your own library for more variety. I really like how flexible it is and how you can stretch the impulse responses without changing their pitch. It also comes with features like a built-in delay and various envelope and sequencing options. If you’re looking for powerful shaping tools similar to Shaperbox, but for free, this plugin is definitely worth checking out. If you find it useful, consider supporting the developer with a donation.
Reev-R is a free, open source convolution reverb plugin available for Linux, Mac OS, and Windows.
Developed by the creator of Gate 12, Time 12, and Filter plugins.
Download from GitHub, either as a binary or source code; donations are encouraged to support the developer.
The plugin allows shaping the reverb effect using an envelope, with controls for mix, send, and input gain.
Only one impulse response sample is included; users should use their own IR libraries for more options.
You can easily automate or modulate the mix and send levels, allowing creative use of reverb tails.
The impulse response sample can be stretched to lengthen the reverb without changing pitch.
Suggestion for improvement: Ability to browse through impulse responses within a directory and automate changes with an envelope.
The envelope section offers randomization, curve editing, and a built-in sequencer.
Integrated post-reverb delay with selectable timing; a dedicated mix knob for the delay is suggested as a possible feature.
Reev-R is part of a set of four plugins offering similar functionality to commercial tools like Shaperbox.
The plugin is highly flexible for creative sound design and modulation.
