I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the support you have shown me and PixelFade throughout the years. None of what we accomplished would have been possible without you always cheering us on and supporting us!
PixelFade started back in 2014 (11 years ago!), though my time experimenting with VNs dates back to around mid-2012. I wanted to create the kind of game I’d love to play—one with plenty of choices so I could truly feel immersed in the world, with realistic and likable characters, all within a comedy-centric story. This has been the DNA of our VNs, and I am so happy and grateful that it has resonated with so many of you.
All these games have been passion projects. They were crafted with love, with no focus on monetization, because we simply wanted to make fun games. Our ability to make player-centric decisions instead of business-centric ones was entirely thanks to your crowdfunding support through Kickstarter and Patreon. I believe PixelFade found its success in how closely we stayed connected with our community, making these projects feel like a collaborative effort. Heck, some of the biggest decisions were shaped by your feedback and votes!
With all that in mind, I’ve always said that the only time I’d stop PixelFade is if we ever lost the passion to make the next game or if we were ever doing it just for the money. After more than a decade, I feel that time has finally come.
Astral Ascension is nearing completion, and the team and I will ensure it is as polished and perfected as our other VNs. However, the journey will stop here, as I am officially announcing that we will be taking an indefinite break, with no current plans to continue onward with future projects.
I have immensely enjoyed my time creating these games, and I will always cherish the memories we’ve shared—from the Proboard days to Kickstarter comments to our community Discord. It’s a bittersweet feeling to finally wrap things up after Astral Ascension, but I believe this is the right decision for PixelFade at the right time.
Moving forward, we will continue working on Astral Ascension as we near the finish line and transition from Early Access to full launch. Realistically, nothing will change in the next month or two. However, I have always believed in transparency, so I wanted to let you know about this decision as soon as it was officially made.
So with that, I say to you—Pilots, Isekai Protagonists, Ethereal Beings, and Starfarers—thank you for letting us live our dream and for sharing in these experiences with us. ❤️

Ok... This destroyed me. Like Crystalline did with my mental health back in 2019. Took a lot of time to recover, but well. I understand. 11 Years is a lot of time and the passion tank eventually ran out of fuel. Thanks for your amazing works throug all these years. Really.

Crazy to see that this all began with a kendo visual novel. Ace academy is still one of my favourite visual novels and all the other ones have also been top tier for me. Even if you don't ended up making another visual novel game in the future. I hope to see another game out of you one day!
