What Happens Next?

Hope everyone is doing well. :^)
I wanted to provide an update in terms of what happens next, as Astral Ascension has been released for a while now and we've patched/updated all the reported issues.
First things first, we are not working on any new titles, and this looks like it won't be changing for the foreseeable future. There is an extensive post about this here. However, the TL;DR is that PixelFade projects have always been passion projects, and we were all hobbyists/freelancers (albeit we did collaborate together for about a decade across five projects!). Astral Ascension felt like the right VN to conclude on.
So what does that mean for PixelFade? We are basically going into low-power mode and just supporting the game in terms of technical issues, bug fixes, updates, taxes, distribution compliance... etc., without new project prospects on the horizon.
What does that mean for Patreon? We'll be keeping it around in case players are interested in the historical rewards and previous posts. However, I would recommend switching over to the free tier or "Waiting Room" if your original intention was to fund future projects.
Will we ever return to active development? The default and simple answer is no. I know the wording leaves room for a tiny bit of hopium... All I can say is creative work and passion projects are hard to give a definitive "never". That being said, we don't want to lead anyone on, so it's best (and the most likely case) to assume the default answer.
To wrap things up, I'd like to thank you all once more for your support and love! PixelFade is special to a lot of us for many different reasons, and we are so happy and humbled to have been a part of your lives in some way. <3
