After a few seconds, Entei suddenly stood up. It looked directly at Mew, as if wanting to talk to it. But the next second, Entei sighed again, closing its mouth that had just opened. It continued to droop its face, lying at the mouth of the cave like a guard dog.
Ever since returning here, it had been wondering whether to tell Senior Mew that its Trainer had chosen to lead the evil Pokémon Trainers away alone to protect it. But if it told Senior Mew, she would likely run off to find her Trainer, and then be captured by those evil Trainers. But if it didn't tell her, Senior Mew would eventually realize something was wrong.
Although when it first returned, it told Senior Mew its first lie ever. It told her that her Trainer had gone to get her something to eat and told her to wait here. It knew the lie was a bit clumsy, but fortunately, Senior Mew didn't suspect anything. But it also knew that a lie was a lie, and there would be a day when it would be exposed. When Senior Mew didn't see her Trainer return, what would it do?
Suddenly, the guilt of lying and the guilt of not helping, a double burden of guilt, weighed on Entei, making it feel extremely uncomfortable. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said those things to you before. You're not like those guys; you're a good Trainer, and you're worthy of Senior Mew." Entei murmured to itself, recalling what it had said to Jack when he first entered this cave, and a wave of self-reproach washed over it.
"If I can see you again in the next life, or if you can return alive, I can give you the chance to capture me." It said this, but Entei also knew it was impossible. After all, a human who could transform into a Pokémon, if caught, would surely be treated as an anomaly and studied.
When it first returned, it also asked Senior Mew why her Trainer could transform into a Pokémon. Senior Mew explained it as the power of a god, saying it was her Trainer's biggest secret and must not be known by other humans, otherwise he would definitely be captured, sliced up, and tortured to death. She also told it that her Trainer bore the heavy responsibility of protecting them, those referred to by humans as Legendary Pokémon. Protecting them from human oppression, protecting them from evil Trainers who sought to use their power to change the world.
"No, I must save him, even if it means sacrificing myself, I must save him." A while later, Entei, unable to bear the self-reproach and guilt, decided to go save Jack... "You all stay here. If I don't come back, then from now on, you will listen to Senior Mew. I believe she will be willing to protect you."
Entei gathered the Pokémon under its protection in this forest. Among them were Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Sudowoodo, Gligar, Sneasel, Ursaring, and other fully evolved Pokémon. Like making arrangements for its aftermath, it told them what they needed to do after it left, a few dozen meters outside the cave entrance. And these Pokémon listened to Entei's instructions with great reluctance. Because Entei was like an elder to them; ever since it came to this forest, it had selflessly protected them from the disturbance of human Trainers.
"You don't have to be like this. I'm just saying this; it doesn't mean I really won't come back. Believe me, I will return." Entei comforted them, then found several Aipom and Pidgeotto, agile Pokémon capable of high-altitude flight, and tasked them with reconnaissance. Once they spotted human Trainers approaching, they were to immediately return and report, so that Nidoqueen and Nidoking could take Mew and leave, finding a new hiding place...
Ten minutes later, just as Entei had arranged everything and was about to leave, a figure appeared. It was Jack. He was strolling leisurely through the forest, holding a beef patty in his hand. Entei was immediately startled. It thought it had seen wrong. It blinked a few times, confirmed it hadn't seen wrong, then took a step, leaping twenty meters to appear in front of Jack.
"You came back alive?" Entei was so excited its words were a bit incoherent. Jack frowned slightly. Why did those words sound so uncomfortable?
"If I didn't come back alive, was I supposed to come back dead?"
Entei shook its head vigorously: "No, no, no, I meant to ask how you managed to shake them off, and I see no injuries on you."
Jack smiled, a casual expression on his face: "Shaking them off, that's not..." However, halfway through his sentence, Jack saw the surprise in Entei's eyes, and his words abruptly stopped, replaced by an expression of internal injury.
"Cough, cough, cough... Shaking them off, that's not very... simple, is it?" Jack said the most boastful words in a weak tone.
Entei heard this, and its surprised expression immediately turned to concern. Though he said that, this man must have gone through immense hardship to shake off those people.
"Get on my back. I'll take you inside." Entei gestured with its eyes for Jack to get on.
"Is this okay?" Jack showed a hesitant expression.
Entei nodded vigorously: "It's fine, of course it's fine. I can feel that you are a good human Trainer. I was presumptuous to speak to you that way before."
Jack finally got on. He got on amidst the awestruck gazes of many Pokémon. Because this was the first time they had seen Lord Entei willingly allow a human to ride on its back. Not even a Pokémon had ever received such treatment. Oh... no, Lord Mew had before...
A dozen seconds later, Jack was escorted into the cave by Entei. Then he got off, still wanting more. Riding on Entei's back just now, enjoying the awestruck gazes of those Pokémon—that feeling, to be honest, was truly not just ordinarily amazing.
"Trainer, you're finally back." The moment Mew saw Jack return, she immediately pounced from Miltank onto Jack, bringing with her a strong scent of milk.
"Where's the food? Entei said you went to get food, but why are you only holding the beef patty we ate this morning?"
"Food?" Jack looked at Entei, puzzled. Entei then used Telepathy, which only it and Jack could hear, to explain everything it had said to Mew, one by one, to Jack.
After listening, Jack immediately chuckled and brushed off Mew, saying he hadn't found anything delicious and would take her to eat something good when they reached human inhabited areas.
After saying that, Jack immediately whispered into Mew's ear, asking her to use Telepathy to repeat everything she had told Entei to him. Mew then told Jack what she had said to Entei, about her Trainer possessing divine power and bearing the heavy responsibility of protecting Legendary Pokémon, and so on.
After listening, Jack almost gave Mew a thumbs-up right in front of Entei. Mew was a good kid. It wasn't in vain that he had been brainwashing her with these words. Such self-aggrandizing words, coming from Mew's mouth, would definitely be ten thousand times more effective than if he said them himself.
So, suppressing his excitement, Jack prepared to directly lay his cards on the table with Entei and make it his Pokémon. However, just as he was about to speak, Entei pushed a Miltank in front of him, one step ahead.
"You seem to still be injured. Drink some of Miltank's milk; its milk has healing effects."
"Uh…" Entei's words made Jack's face instantly flush to his ears. He could barely accept drinking milk in Mew's form before, but now, to have him, in his own form, lie on a Miltank and drink milk—that image was just too perverted to imagine.
"Cough, cough, cough... Actually, I'm perfectly fine; I don't need to drink any." Jack quickly shook his head, using a cough to cover his embarrassment.
"You're coughing, so how can you be fine? Drink it, don't be shy; don't worry, I won't tell anyone." Entei waved its large hand, directly pushing Jack into Miltank's embrace. The subsequent scene was... (indescribable, please imagine it yourself)
A few minutes later, Jack, with a mouth full of milk, told Entei his purpose. Entei listened and did not refuse Jack: "Alright, but you have to defeat me first."
Jack waved his hand: "There's no need for a battle. I can capture you directly without fighting."
Saying that, Jack directly took out an empty Poké Ball and threw it towards Entei. A red light flashed, Entei was sucked in, and the Poké Ball fell to the ground, beginning to shake violently. One shake, two shakes, three shakes, four shakes, five shakes. After the fifth shake ended, the Poké Ball made a ding sound. Entei was successfully captured.
