Thank you for sharing your opinion and your story. It would probably not be entirely honest to say that I purposefully started freelancing. At that moment it was the only option - I was fired and it was the beginning of a pandemic. Partially - I was lucky, partially - I grabbed this opportunity tightly =) I was terribly scared. Sometimes I had to limit myself in food. It was a terrible time for me, and I cannot advise anyone to take this path - I simply do not have the moral right. I was able to get more use out of it than I expected. Perhaps this is where I was lucky.

As everyone's life path and desires are different, and as the grass is always greener on the other side, this might not feel like it for you. But to me, what you described as your previous path and professional work experience is.a.dream... I'm happy for you that you got to experience it and it helped you get on your current path! I've been very much been 'searching' for what it is I want in life for the past years. I started my career at a large company, as a white collar worker, in more 'knowledge' based jobs, and my path included growing to middle management. And I am good at my job, and I earn relatively well. But to be honest, it's a golden cage and it's hard to get out of it, and it doesn't give me much energy and enjoyment. Being good at it doesn't mean I actually like doing it. I've always had a creative streak, tinkering with anything from electronics to very basic and simple 'crafts' projects (including building and painting some props, making moulds, casting resin, 3D printing, etc.). But I wouldn't call myself an 'artsy' type, I cannot draw, sculpt or compose. Not necessarily because I would not be capable of it, but because I've got no training and -due to reasons- inhibitions/thought patterns that make it harder for me to devote myself and grow into those kinds of skills. While I like doing my hobby projects the most, and am constantly yearning for more, newer skills to learn and things to make, I have difficulty actually finishing projects and having enough time and especially energy to work on them. My main job takes up a lot of my energy sadly. And I have not managed to find out what *exactly* it is I really want in life, so far it keeps eluding me. I haven't had the energy or courage these past years to starting fresh, taking risks with little certainty and with no experience/credentials in these more artistic, creative fields. Beginning on my own as freelancer feels daunting, so kudos to you for having had the courage to take that step and having worked hard for it.

I think I sat down to write this text and got a little carried away... 🤷‍♂️
