Tomorrow is the day - vonBiomes 12 gets ready!
🕑 Added 2023-04-17 03:51:48 +0000 UTCThe last two weeks have been quite a ride to extend the quality, mission variety and in-game interface for you Mechwarrior out there. And after tonight, I can finally say that the new version 12 will be coming tomorrow, Monday, to your Merc company!
Meanwhile, please enjoy this image gallery of screenshot taken from today's test runs above, showing the new upgrades and how different every mission now looks like.
Sidenote: Discord users may have already seen those in the Special WIP channel - if you have Discord but not yet joined up, here is an invite: https://discord.gg/pbPzX9eyss - and please let me know you come from Patreon in a message so I can promote you to the supporters user role!
vonBiomes 12 bring back the galaxy
This will be a huge update. First, the new sun system brings the astronomical solar classes of suns back to biomes - both for missions and the star map. Secondly, that made another overhaul of mission lighting necessary. Then there is an cool new interface option - you can now view the solar system full-screen and see the planets in their space beauty!
Moreover, the mission screen interface has been improved with new information, mainly the sun class and planet orbit being more prominent, and overall better looks.
And there is tons of new content in the new version - I developed a new system for custom backgrounds and used that already to build in cities, a background volcano and new sceneries. With the 4 new background city variants, missions can now also take place on the outskirts of civilization - and in the night, the city switches on even its lights. (Which honestly should also be in megacity missions,... lets see if that is something that can be done in the future;)
Furthermore, there are new sky nebulas, a night vision improvement, so it is actually useful, new scenery objects, textures, fixes and more in the upcoming package. Rain and snow is also overhauled. I will post the full change-log tomorrow when your Download is ready.
So... Tomorrow is (finally) the day
My estimate is it will be around later afternoon/early evening CET after another test run, zipping and uploading. Hurray!
Stay tuned for vonBiomes 12 and see you tomorrow,
thank you for the ongoing support and making this mod possible. Cheers!
