Adom's risk of inopportune heart attack just rose by a whopping 75% with that series of events. Maybe add 50% chance of brain aneurysm to my previsions.

"I've never seen passing like that," Mira said, appearing at Adom's elbow with her hair still dripping sweat. "Did you see how their Spear threaded that ball between Jace and Mira in the second half? I didn't even know that angle existed." Mira referenced herself. Also, I thought Lireth had also won some tournaments recently, so reconcile that with the finals team for the future? Great chapter - voice to text must be so hard compared to typing. I constantly say one thing while I mean another!

There’s a few things I’m confused about. I thought I remembered the coach being a former pro but Viriam’s attitude didn’t line up so I went back to earlier chapters and the coach’s name was different. Did they change coaches at some point? Also, in chapter 61 someone mentions that they haven’t won in five years but here it says their drought is thirteen years. Last thing: if spears are supposed to rotate every 20 minutes or so to avoid degrading performance, why did Adom never play before the main tournament given he was the backup spear? Thank you for the chapter and hope your hand heals well!

Why wouldn’t Adom just fly

TFTC, I'm super exited about the highlands arc, though I REALLY hope the Tagalogs don’t hold him back, if they do meet. That would be annoying. I feel like it would kinda ruin the whole self-discovery/getting answers part of the arc.

Once again, this was a very well executed time skip. It gave all the high points without being bogged down by repeating elements of what we'd already seen in the first round match. Thanks for that!

One logic problem with this chapter. All of these people are just hopping on a boat to go to the giant highlands without any sort of overnight gear or supplies. Damus should instead book the boat for departure in an hour instead. I'd think people would be less prone to making the trip if it was without supplies to a dangerous area. Also, it's a dangerous area they are going to, but I don't know that students attending a sporting event in a foreign city would have been allowed to take weapons, so they'd likely also have to take time to buy weapons if they don't all have dimensional storage bags.

Thank you for the chapter, I love the story… I am a little confused on the scale of the story though. These a 3rd year students without Adom’s advantages. They’re going to a zone that is supposed to be insanely dangerous, and they’re all pretty blaze about it. So my question is, is the world really that dangerous? Of n unexplored zone and area that is listed as incredibly dangerous, can just have a group of children decide to go during a Saturday morning stroll, no real planning, or even packing for the trip…can it really be that bad? And if it isn’t, why’s 80% unexplored by adult mages and the other immortal races? Not griping or nitpicking just curious and wondering.

Karion became Kalion 8x in this chapter. Also, no memory of who he is, yet his name got dropped like we should.

Hey everyone! Just a quick update — I’ll be uploading chapters once every two days for now to keep things consistent while my hand heals. I want to make sure I’m giving you solid chapters and giving myself enough time to recover properly. That said, another chapter is coming your way tonight (or sooner!) — I’m actually in the middle of completely rewriting it to make it flow better and hit the right beats. I really hope you enjoy this one. It marks the beginning of the Giant Highlands arc — a major turning point in the story. It might not seem like it yet, but what happens here will ripple all the way to the very end. Thanks so much for reading and for all the support — it means the world.
