I suppose they could be, though in order to do that I'd have to fix the positions of items and figures in the first scene so they made sense. But I don't think it's very necessary: "never use more words or images to tell your story than are necessary" is probably a good guide to follow.

I like both. They could honestly be one frame where they are exuberant, to the next where their attention is drawn to the MC and they appear more focused and calm.
