This is fantastic! I'd presume they could get info from either intelligence or actual captured / surrrended vehicles. Being in the defensive in Normandy probably made this difficult. Furthermore the (as far as I understand) difficult retreat from France probably didn't help, as a lot of materiel was left behind

Thank you!

That was fascinating. Nothing like a bit of historical myth busting.

You go in with a plan, you realize a lot of the supposedly great documents are "duds", you stumble upon "pure gold" by sheer luck, e.g., the Churchill Tank Files were in a Luftwaffe file... (which Chris found, while I searched all the tank files and found next to nothing). I usually have an excel sheet with all the signatures/codes ("RH 10/57") and the titles printed out. I order like 20-30 of these the day before online, I go in and get the first set of 5-10 (depending on the size, some are basically simple papers, some can be 2-3 fat binders). And depending on the mission etc. I start looking or generally I start scanning / photographing.

I know it would bore most people and probably be your least-viewed video, but I'd find it fascinating to have a 15 minute video on how exactly you find all this information in the archives.
