Welcome to the very first weekly devlog for Booty Hunter!
โ Whatโs Done So Far
๐ Multi-language Support
Booty Hunter now supports 9 new languages:
๐ช๐ธ Spanish, ๐ซ๐ท French, ๐ฉ๐ช German, ๐ฎ๐น Italian, ๐ง๐ท Portuguese, ๐ท๐บ Russian, ๐ฏ๐ต Japanese, ๐จ๐ณ Simplified Chinese, and ๐ฐ๐ท Korean.
This was a big step toward making the game more accessible to everyone around the world!
โ๏ธ 60 FPS Animations
Combat animations and "hunting screen" animations (idle and walking) have been upgraded to 60 frames per second using a new technique I discovered called side_masks. This makes animations much smoother and more fluid overall.
๐ฌ Conditional Dialogue System
I implemented a brand-new dialogue system where characters can engage in multiple topics. These topics are conditional โ new ones can appear depending on player actions or certain events. This opens up more dynamic and immersive conversations.
๐ Input Buffering Fix
I fixed a bug where enemies couldn't register rapid consecutive damage. The system now handles up to 100 damage inputs per second, allowing for much more responsive and fluid combat sequences.
๐จ What I'm Currently Working On
๐ New Card Banner โ Grand Line Waters
A new card banner is in the works: Grand Line Waters, which will feature stronger cards than the current East Blue Winds banner. One illustration is already complete, but I still need to work on a few more for the full set.
๐ฉโโ๏ธ Crew Job System
Iโve started developing a job system for the girls in your crew. In version 0.10, the available jobs will include:
Cook, Navigator, Hunter, Fishing, and Crafting.
Some girls will perform better at specific jobs, but you're free to assign anyone to any task.
๐ฃ Fishing Minigame
A brand new fishing minigame is being created! Youโll be able to fish alongside any girl in your crew. It's still in early stages, but I'm excited to see how it turns out.
๐ป Reworking โWork at the Barโ (Hajimeru)
The old minigame no longer fits the tone and pace of Booty Hunter. Iโm currently reworking the Work at the Bar job into something more fun, interactive, and better suited to the current version of the game.
๐ Bonus Update โ Website Integration for Patreon Rewards
I recently launched an official website for Booty Hunter! While itโs still minimal, it's going to play an important role in how Patreon supporters claim in-game rewards.
Hereโs how it will work:
Log into the site using your Patreon account.
If you're a supporter, youโll be able to generate a unique key linked to your email.
In-game, enter your email and key to unlock your rewards.
This system is still in testing, but I plan to provide a full tutorial in a future devlog.
๐งฑ 3D Learning Journey
As a side note, Iโve started learning 3D modeling! I made a basic sword model and Iโm currently figuring out how to import it into KK Studio. My goal is to eventually create custom 3D models for Booty Hunter โ starting with a new ship for the crew!
