Ya that's normal to them seeing the light signifies there nest was opened up and exposed so they will freak out. Nothing to worry about. Try not to stress them out a lot get some red film to put over them so you can watch them all the time that's what I do they can't see red light.

When I get the cover off of my 3 week old colony, they absolutely stress out. They even grab the eggs and move them to the out-world. Is that normal? The colony is quite big with about 6 workers (one already died
