Vintage Lil Mia (& We Need Trackers...)
🕑 Added 2021-10-02 21:02:08 +0000 UTCHey guys, here's a cute photo of Mia, probably playing Super Mario 3, back in the day.
We're still figuring out how bad this moving scam is. Tomorrow the truck *should* be here from Oregon, with Mia's stuff. I'll certainly post a video somewhere about this once it's concluded. If nothing else happens, it's insane. But, we know there's still a chance for more crazy.
Mia and I are off to the Apple store to buy some trackers now. I have a few ideas for those, assuming the truck shows up. The company Mia's mom had originally found was a broker, who then hired another company. We looked them up. Their address goes to a fitness center in NJ. I asked the first company what's up with that, they couldn't answer. The company with our stuff won't answer or return our calls. So last night Mia found out the shady company has a different legal name and we looked up that address. It's a tiny juice bar in NJ. This keeps getting more weird. Trying to be smart about the rest of this.
The damage that's already been done is done, pretty sure. Some people never see their stuff again. What we owe them is a lot more than the value of what's on the truck, which is why I think they will (eventually) show up. But when they do, I don't intend to give them any more money. They don't take checks or credit card b/c you can stop payment. They know what they're doing. It's absolutely a scam. They told Mia's mom the final payment could be made via credit card. The contract says they want cash or post office money order. Uh huh. They want to take the money and disappear.
Okay, you get it. That's how it's been going. They gave us one price, which became another once they loaded the truck. They kinda overwhelmed Mia's mom. One guy was in her kitchen trying to show her photos and videos on his phone and talk to her about kids. One guy seemed to really think Mia was very beautiful and loved her art, he'd like to commission her to do a portrait of himself. (I need an eye rolling emoji here). So, what's the garage guy doing during this time? Who knows. Sure sounds like they were trying to distract her. Then they sprung the new contract on her while they were having this very nice conversation. Somehow the price nearly tripled after Mia spent two weeks reducing the amount of stuff to ship. Now how'd that happen?? Evidently those boxes are as large as our California house. Remember the PODS we loaded...?
Okay... I'll save it for the video that is sure to come. We have more things to do before tomorrow. Gotta go find some trackers.
