The step by step process of concepting a scene
🕑 Added 2019-07-10 23:24:55 +0000 UTCI thought I'd share something that I don't think I've gone into before: my creative process! I'm sure some of you are interested in how I go about the creation of a scene, and if you're not then this is still a great post with a whole buncha pictures in it :D But yes, now that I've settled on the final and definitive look for the release later this month, let's explain how I got there.
Step One: Chemistry!
The first version of a scene isn't usually that exciting, and sometimes it may take a long time to find. There have been scenes I've designed that required up to two weeks of trying before I hit the point that I call chemistry. It's the moment where something about what you're looking at resonates within you. Call it the eureka moment, haha.
Usually it involves being aroused by what I'm seeing, but other times I can also just be impressed by the environment, the lighting, the outfit design, anything. In this case, because I'm a big fan of pink, I thought what I was looking at here was very hot and I couldn't wait to put another girl there to play with Mari a little bit. Since I was working off the wallpaper scene file, I already had all the girls loaded in with outfits, and mixing and matching was very easy.
Step Two: Harmonise the environment
Colours play a huge role for me in scene design. So when I added Kayla in, I realised that I had really upped the volume of pink present in the scene. I realised that if I was going to add in even more girls, which I wanted to, I would have to design the scene around the main colour theme in order for the background to not distract from the action, or for the girls' outfits to feel like they weren't making the most of the environment around them. So the first thing to change were the walkway edges, which were too grey.
Then I wondered if pink palm fronds would look good, and it didn't take long for me to decide that they did. What would they have used to treat those fronds? I figured some kind of spray. Why would they spray the fronds to begin with? From that question, a story emerges. Now I said that I didn't want to make this a story set, but I'm starting to think that maybe I do want it to be peripherally related to story. As in, maybe I could go with a grouping of girls that canonically could happen.
Step Three: Improve on what's there.
This is a sometimes a very quick part of the process, and other times it can take forever. Because sometimes improvements lead you to make further improvements, and before you know it you've strayed from the core essence of what you initially had. And what happens if you like it better that way? Then step three cycles back to step one. That does happen. In cases where it doesn't, you keep working. Sometimes you settle for what you have and accept that not everything can be a home run, but that it's still good looking objectively.
This set is not one of those cases, haha. After adding Tatiana and Marcella, I realised that this set mostly stood to gain from a lighting overhaul. The lighting in the first two images was too bland, and too surreal. This place needed a real sunny HDRI. So I tweaked light emission values and upped saturation levels. What I got was the shot above, which came alive in comparison to the previous shots.
Step Four: Tweak the details.
Even when you settle on that final lighting design, there are some itches left to scratch. In this scene, it goes back to two things: outfit design, and colour design. Outfit design in the sense that I didn't like Tati's outfit thematically. It also covered up too much of her body. I wanted her to be sleek and oily and with most of that hidden underneath a dress, it'd just be a waste of potential. So Tati got a new bikini, which I also took into zbrush to give some new morphs around the crotch area. This way I could get it to fit around her balls, and make her rock her cock with her thong still on.
Of course more noticably, both Tati and Marcella got hair colour changes. I've wanted to render them as blondes for a while now and this was a great opportunity to do so. With something like a cumshot special you can just kinda do the stuff that normal story sets don't give you the opportunity to do. I think both girls look great as blondes, and this is the final way the ensemble will end up looking.
So first thing tomorrow I'm going to start working on the cumshots themselves. I'll probably still add a piece of furniture for the ladies to get to work on, so thematically it'll be something that works in this scene. Maybe something glass, or blocky like the flower pots on the sides.
As of now, I still have no idea what the set might actually end up looking like. Usually it comes to me as I go. Stories I plan out, but this one is going to be very free form. I do have a list of fetishes and sex acts I want to include, so stay on the lookout for selfsucking and frotting. There'll probably also be more titfucking and anal, since I've grown to take a liking to those :D
Anyway, stay tuned! I'll be posting early access renders over the two weeks to come.
PS. Both versions of the final lighting design have been added as attachments incase you might want them as wallpaper and you have a preference for one colour of hair over the other. ;)

Oh wow there's a lot of ideas there haha. I can't say they all appeal to me equally much but I'm definitely not opposed to some period-oriented themes. With Kayla I've already tried to chase the 50's theme a bit with her interview in December too.

This is what you do best, pin-up style images! hope to see more of them building up to the cumshot scenes, some of my fav images of yours are pinups which slightly reveal the girl's pussies :D

This was fascinating to read, your process seems quite similar to some of the Abstract artists of the Man Ray era- a visceral element based more on inner instinct forms the basis. This is the same in my oil paintings, and I think my buyers find that same visceral sense that clicks in them when looking at the work as these are the pieces of mine that always sell. Hearing your thoughts on spraying the trees etc gave rise to loads of ideas in my mind too, the I thought of a really cool concept Iād love to see from you one day- something more Amazonian based or ethnic!? The girls could have tanned skin and wear sexy little ethnic outfits and there could be scenes in forests, by fire, or lakes and streams etc. It just seemed like a really left of centre idea compared to your usual magic. I hope you consider it one day! Iād like to see a whole series of things like that- this girls in a space station theme with a Kubrick style, another set in NYC in the 50s etc. Ok I am getting carried away! WOW!!! (I'm back!) damn dude, what a time to be alive haha, I was not expecting this, but all girls with dicks, all pink, lovely outfits (crotchless thong bodies!!!!) But this switched from the bridal set as July's release? not that I mind, especially if you're aiming for 60+ renders, I have to catch up on that new Kayla set as well, how many episodes will that comic be? and looks like OG Kayla is back with her haircut :)

Alright let's go through this one point for point :D 1) About 60 renders. Could be more, could be less, but I always aim for 60. 2) I think blonde hair has that effect on girls haha. I don't see the shallow thing myself, I just think she's a real superstar with that look. I love it. I realise one is not better than the other though, its just what you take from it yourself more than anything else. Bombshell is the word I would use to describe blonde Tati. 3) I've thought about the ways in which I can alter the girls' looks in the story but I don't see a reason for why they'd wear a wig except in special circumstances. I like thematic consistency and I want the girls to be recognisable, so Marcella's hair will always have that rich red-brown colour, Tati will always be raven black etc. 4) Absolutely will make Tati be on the receiving end. Don't worry :D

Hmmm I could do that some time, yeah. I'd have to edit it which I have no experience with but it -is- something I'll have to learn eventually anyway, so why not.

I always aim for 60 :) Since this is a set dedicated to renders that are a bit more labour intensive, it could be fewer. It could also be more, if I decide to just increase the number of camera angles if the action is exciting enough to warrant it. Time will tell.

Good question from a Bagel Monster. How many renders there will be in this cumshot special. Again around 20? Anyway, I have to admit it was very interesting to read your thought processes and see how you approach these things. Very interesting indeed. But to address all that pink and lightning play...you know I will say it's a great job as always because it is. Plus that water temple thing all this background. For me, it's really something new and unique. But to address the most important changes here...Tatiana and Marcella as blondes...I mean I LOVE Tatiana's raven hair but seeing her as a blonde (I remember you introduce her as a blonde a while back...as a bonus in a Princess set if I am not mistaken) I believe Tati in blonde is look like a proper mean bitch. Especially in that photo. Proud, shallow almost like Breanna I would say :-) But it suits her in this case. And Marcella, she is rocking that visage without a doubt as well Those boots are an especially nice touch. Overall we (your fans and patrons) can look forward to another original, unique and great image set Ohhh, and you said you can't make girls blonde in normal sets only in these special ones. I think it's a nice future and detail that you can do to girls stuff you "can't" in story sets, but blonde hair on Tatiana or Marcella, (or Maybe in future even on Yelena) it can always be a wig or..I believe Carter Industry has something in their sleeve. Some injection or pill or anything which can change hair color for a day or anything like that....just a thought. ;-) PS. You wrote that there will be probably more titfucking and anal action. I know I begged and pleaded for it before and you said in upcoming Legacy comics there will be some anal action with Tati...but again I am making just small tiny request...if you could put here anal action with Tatiana and she would be on a receiving end...just small innocent request from Tatiana's biggest fan :-)

This! Love seeing stuff like this. Behind the scenes. Is it possible to do a screen recording or a time lapse of the process? Like, going from posing the girls to adding clothing, environment, lighting, to the finished product?
