Lighting tests and character tweaks!

I've been basically doing nothing else but working on the Marcella comic. I need to come up with a name for it still but that's usually closer to the actual release of the first part.
I think I'll create an A3D set from the renders I'm creating for that, and then release the comic shortly after. The last week has been me working on figuring out locations for all the girls; I want each of them to have a really hallmark location that fits their character implicitly. With Nikki being the blonde bimbo doll of the group, it was pretty easy to figure out her bedroom. Expect lots of steamy renders taking place there!
The three shots in the thumbnail are just lighting tests. I think I like the overall vibe and brightness. Maybe a bit more bloom, but that's easy to overdo is to will require some tweaking and tuning.
Then, some more Jessica renders as I continued working on her aesthetic. As you can see there's three shots (with transparent backgrounds so feel free to use these for wallpaper creation or whatever you like), each being exactly the same girl proportion wise but having distinctly different styling. I go through setups like these to really hone in on what I want someone to be. I'm kinda in love with the first of those three looks, but honestly they're all great.
The idea here is to build a cohesive world. Once I have a good feeling for where the girls live aesthetically, I'm going to map out the story part for part. I have a good idea for the overall storyline, so then obviously the next step is determine how many parts I want there to be to the comic, and what part of the story each one can cover. And of course ensure that there's amazing sex scenes throughout.
For me, story always follows from visuals. I can have a great idea for a story concept but it doesn't start to live until I understand what it ends up looking like. So expect more updates over the coming week!

I like Jessica and Nikki, but I prefer nipples to be more vivid like Kayla has.

Yeah, sorry if I got hung up on that. Honestly I don't have the eye to comment on illumination details and it looks fine to me. I usually have an opinion on lighting when it start to interfere with the art, like being too bright or too dark and the models lose details, or when there are too many effects like blooms and lens flares. As for the lips, they've been bothering me since the first pics, but I figured you were still working on the girls so this was a good time to comment. I generally don't like these 'danger' hair colors, since there are enough more 'natural' colors out there (and we've barely just moved on from just blonde and black with your stuff), so I'd like to see something like that before we get to the neon ones :D. My main point here is that I would love to see some shorted hair with volume like versions 1 and 2. Now that you mention evolving it dawns on me that with a cast of 5 this comic can't possibly happen in the span of a few hours. There's not enough time for Marcella to meet and 'meat' everyone, right? I guess this will be your first comic to span a longer amount of time, and not have just one encounter in a single place. I think this will be great since that means you get the chance to have different outfits and combinations of girls. Is there any chance there will be girl only scenes or will this be from Marcella's perspective only?

Lol its funny because 2 of 3 comments have now been on Nikki's lips and as I rendered that shot I was like "ok the purpose here is a lighting test, not a final character render, but goddamn that's a silly face". I figured I'd post it up and see what responses I'd get anyway lol. So yeah they're up on the chopping block. Also agreed on the three Jessica renders except for hair colour on #2. I'm kinda in love with her first look, but the pink hair has something special for me. Maybe I'll evolve her appearance across the span of the comic. Start out one way, have her go another.

The room looks pretty great so good work with that, but I have to agree that Nikki's lips have definitely passed the line between attractive and clownish :D. As for Jessica I really like the dress in the first pic the most. For hair I could go for 1 or 2, with a preference for a non pink no. 2. The hair in 3 honestly makes her too identical to your other blonde, long haired girls.

Agree, awesome work again. I think Jessica looks best in the white dress with the soft blond hairdo. I know Nikki is a bimbo but think her lips are just a little too full and thick, looks like she's been stung by a wasp a little...a very minor point , overall fantastic. Looking forward to this revealing itself.
