They normally stick together more than that. There was only a handful left at the point where Elsie asked for help, so everyone left was in self-preservation mode. It was a selfish thing for them to do for sure. Their behavior will be talking point in the future in the comic.

I was just re-reading this saga, and I noticed something in Elsie's dialog-I think she need s to re-think her choice of covens-no one wanted to help her? What's the point of a coven then? Sheesh!
