why did he take the time to make Fiona and Tamira to full statues, and now he is running out of time? Couldn't he just render them immobile and immediatly start to relocate? ok, there is a reason why I publish so few stories ... this way the story is more suspense and more heat, and thanks for creating such statuesque pictures!

That guy could just be a flake. The storyline doesn't say that statues are solid stone, they could be hollow resin statues, which while not feather weight, could be lifted without too much strain. It really comes down whether the story's antagonist is purist or modern day cheapo.
